Good luck, Mike! Everyone I've talked to said it's over before you even realize what's happened. But fried bacon smells might be a nice thing. I saw my last private practice patient this afternoon. It would've been 19 years this July! I sifted through over 700 patients in the last few months and closed with over 300. I'm on spring break next week, then will move all my crap the following week, and start full time at the VA the week after. Going through all the boxes I have to toss out all my crap and came across some fun stuff!

No time for this right now. But maybe this will force me to watch more basketball, and trash talk with you guys, and that can only be good. Thanks, Mike!

Makes perfect sense. Half of the attraction for me is the tenderness which sounds so easy to achieve, the other half is how well it seems to match my day - I can get it started early in the day, let it cook for a wide variation of time, then when it's dinner time, take five minutes to sear it and be ready to eat. Thanks, I'll plan to get one after spring break.

Mike, besides being good, is the Anova cooked food actually better or at least different enough from regular grilling or frying that you've found it worthwhile? If I don't cook Japanese curry, I'll definitely have to look for some at a restaurant!

That Japanese curry recipe looks really good. Pig head not so much. Suckling pig is fantastic, though haven't had it for a while and in my old age, I might feel bad for Babe now. Pork belly is delish, but incredibly fatty.

Have never had a Japanese curry ...

Progressives in my early 40's, very happy. Took a few days to adjust, now I don't notice them except that I can see near and far. The only time I don't like them is if I'm laying down in bed watching a movie. Then I'm looking down to watch something at a distance, which doesn't work. But that's not often, and I have an old pair of non-bifocals sitting next to the bed.

Thanks for the support, everyone! So far, so good. The other driver has State Farm, and so do I. I have a police report and pictures. Should be pretty obvious what happened. My agent said to file a claim directly against her policy. I spoke to the insurance company yesterday and again today to confirm my version of the story. They're still waiting to hear back from the other party. She actually was a nice 19 year old girl with her little sister. At the time of the accident, she came right out and said she was so sorry, then called her Dad to ask what to do. Dad said to file a police report, and I agreed. So hopefully it'll be no more than a nuisance.

I'll be interested in your experience with that. I think I'd like a sous vide machine, but can't afford the counter space.
