I wonder if my place would accept a shipment. http://m.yelp.com/biz/tonys-shoe-clinic-oak-park Or ship it to me and I'll bring it in. Though the cost of all the shipping may remove all the benefits of having a local cobbler...

Allen Edmunds for dress shoes. Classic model with laces, they look a lot like the G and G Al posted (which look great, by the way!) . I've had them for over 13 years, and they still look good. They also recraft, and do a nice job of this, though I found a good cobbler locally who is much cheaper . For casual every day use at home and most days at the office, I wear slip on waterproof Merrells. In the summer I wear Keen sandals at home and around town. Comfortable, practical, and long lasting.

  12. Going to visit my friend today who loves his BGE. We'll see if he grills up something for us. He usually does. I can ask him any questions you might have.

Happy Birthday! May your day be filled with great audio, beer, and cocktails!
  15. Actually it's Jón, my Icelandic alter ego.
  16. Ah, no problem. It happens often. Thanks for suggesting having a group of cute young college ladies at my house! Again, I'm in favor of this idea, pending spousal approval.
  17. Nice post, CJ! Glad to hear things are going well for you!
  18. Was this directed at me? (Confused by spelling, should be 'John') Or does JP have a second home in Chicago? Well, a group of cute young Notre Dame girls at my place would be a no brainier! I'd be happy to lead the tour! Just not sure what Anne would think. Agree that if even remotely affordable, stay downtown. Doesn't matter where, you can get anywhere with the train or bus, as Dan said, As long as you're not right next to Cabrini Green (there are no hotels right next to Cabrini Green, so just relax!). But if they want to step outside and be in the middle of it all, sure, The Mag Mile would be great. The best shopping will be right there for her to spend your money!
  19. Thanks, I'll check it out! I've discovered a few artists I like on NPR, and wasn't aware there was an app!
  20. Happy Birthday!
  21. My S3 on US Cell just got updated the other day to 4.1.2. Haven't used GPS much since, but looking at Maps just now, nothing looks amiss. I'll try walking around with it on at lunch. Edit: Yup, walked around the hospital campus, and it seems fine.
