At the best of times, pop punk is not my thing. So modern pop punk is probably a pass for me. But as a person with odd taste, I certainly don't begrudge anyone to listen to anything they enjoy. That said, with the horror of the trump years, the appeal of angry nihilism has definitely waned and with it the appeal of any punk rock at all. I'm frankly not sure why anyone listens to anything other than thelonius monk.

Too bad. Would have been a great deal.

I personally wouldn't spend any actual money on an American style jointer. By the time you add a planer, it costs as much as buying a dual jointer/planer, it uses twice the space, and it leaves you with a jointer that's narrower than the planer which is dumb. The small cheap planers make sense for saving money, or the big standalone makes sense in a commercial shop with multiple people working at once, but otherwise I think they're pretty much always the wrong choice.

I always found the opposite to be true. More constraints often yields more interesting results. We all live with the illusion that choice brigs happiness, but in fact choice makes us miserable. #prixfixe -
Issey Miyake Dies at 84 https://www.nytimes.com/2022/08/09/fashion/issey-miyake-dead.html Missed this a few days ago. Of significance for me as Erika had an Issey Miyake dress as her wedding dress.

Happy belated birthday. Hope you have a second good one.

I really want to like this, but I can't listen to anything Steve Albini records. edit: I'll add that I like what SA has to say, I just don't like how he records.

Ha! Is anything from my list then still in my list now? Maybe one. Probably none. I dare say I haven't listened to at least three of them since. edit: that said, I could listen to the Merry Clayton parts of Gimme Shelter daily for the rest of my life. The rest of it? Meh.

Streamer/Airport Express Replacement?
dsavitsk replied to blessingx's topic in Home Source Components
Should work fine. I'd prefer to separate the front and back end for roon with a separate streamer, but that's not strictly necessary. Also, roon will control volume so you can eliminate the parasound. No matter how good it is, you're probably better without it. -
Spies don’t talk—it’s the cardinal rule of the business. But here at Foreign Policy, we get them to open up. On I Spy, we hear from the operations people: the spies who steal secrets, who kill adversaries, who turn agents into double agents. Each episode features one spy telling the story of one operation. https://foreignpolicy.com/podcasts/ispy/

Only thing I have to add is that I got to play around with a Contura once. Most beautiful camera I ever saw. https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/just-bought-my-“grail”-camera-contura-stereo-camera.170807/ -
Listening to this two years later. It's quite good. And who knew it is antivenin, not antivenom?
