Audeze LCD-2
Thanks so much. I have been debating on several SS amps. I appreciate the information.

Audeze LCD-2
Thanks for that info. So the $450 Sheer Audio deal is the Gilmore Lite with an internal power supply?

I am in the same boat. I am currently using the "Claymore." It is some tube monster hybrid that Ari created. I tend to lean towards SS though. TTVJ has one $750.

Chromebook
So far its pretty straightforward. The apps are more like bookmarks. The Dragonfly DAC does not work but the Fiio is plug and play. I think the Pico DAC will work. I have the Acer 11.6 with Celeron and 320gb. Open box was too cheap to not bring home and try it.

Is the shell size different between the two?

Thanks for the feedback. I had somehow interrupted the 13s as Ety like and the 16s as more Westone 3 like.

So from what Im reading, the FP 13s are flatter whereas the FP 16s are little more rowdy. Is that accurate?

Bookshelf speakers/monitors that can take a digital input?
Little late on this one, but for anyone else looking there are some open box A2's at AudioAdvisor for $125.

Schiit Mjolnir
I exchanged emails with Jason this weekend about open box products. The Mjolnir sells for $80 off if open box. He mentioned having some open box ones available.

InnerFidelity in NY Times ... briefly. :)
I think that the best way to break through the "misconceptions" present in the current headphone world are through a seemingly benign site. I would, however, argue that Tyll packs in enough "audiophile" goodness to satisfy even the most hardened skeptic. Is Head-Case a place for audiophiles? It has been quite some time since I have been active.

Which one of these notebooks should I purchase?
The other difference is the Intel IGP versus the Radeon HD3200. They are both integrated and share system memory, but the HD3200 will allow some basic gaming. I have managed to run HL (60FPS), Batman AA (20-30FPS with lowered resolution/ detail) and WoW with everything set to medium (1280x760) at around 40 FPS outside cities and 20-30FPS in crowded areas. I could drop the detail more and get better FPS but its def playable. I have the second one and it is a decent laptop. It performs relatively well but battery life is meh and the AMD is not a bruiser. It works best as a plug it in, set it on a desk type of laptop. The $500 range really opens up some options.
