Got the same voicemail and UPS lists the package as 19lbs, which is exactly the specified weight of the plate.
  2. There are a couple of folks using Tyll's avatar. I didn't pick up on it until I saw what looked like tyll replying to himself

  4. Wow, it's shocking that priority vs air mail is such a huge difference. Same with how close the price difference is between express and priority!
  5. I have one, it's well made and is a simple stand that just works.

Reversed to show how it was filmed:
  10. Yeah, samsung lists " Integrated IR blaster" on their spec sheet.

I believe the green drives are compatible, but it's better to have the parking done by the OS than the drive.

Yeah, I was being conservative; I've paid nearly that much for a raw drive cage with no processing power. I think my only concern would be the processor, I wonder how long a raid set rebuild will take on it...guess I'll test it out when it shows up! On general principles I'd actually avoid the Green's for NAS and stick with the Red drives due to the Green drives tendency to spin-down on its own. Synology's OS has that function built in sot here shouldn't be too much difference in power usage if you enable the drive hibernation/spin-down in the settings.

DS508 HD compatibility list Pretty good price on that Synology unit. Only thing to note is that it's essentially an end of life product; it's still warrantied and supported but it's not upgradeable to DSM 4.2. I'm still going for it, it'll be a nice device to tinker with.
  14. If it's the S3 you have 1 year warranty parts/labor http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/warranty/SCH-I535MBBVZW
  15. It happens whenever I have strenuous exercise for an extended duration; for example, when weight lifting I'll start to run out of breath on the 3rd set, by the 4th set I'll be completely out of breath and have the beginnings of a massive headache/dizziness even if I wait a solid 3-4 minute rest period before continuing. Checking my heart rate/blood pressure at that point in time shows low blood pressure and a skyrocketing heart rate. I don't have any food allergies that I know of and I'm normally working out in a gym/studio. Thanks to all for the well wishes, it's frustrating to have a good workout routine then have something stop your progress.
  16. I've recently been having issues with shortness of breath when working out (both aerobic and anaerobic exercises), so I went to the doc. Blood work came back clean, so I'm going to get checked out by a cardiologist soon. It's just rather weird/scary because I've been fine working out the past few months without issue Both the doc and my trainer mentioned it might be Exercise-induced asthma aka exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exercise-induced_bronchoconstriction . I guess I'll see what the cardiologist says...

Even if I did know anything about it, I would't look at anything from a spammer.
  18. What company was that? That's....rare.
  19. Happy Birthday Bonnie!
  20. I was going to say no way to SSD's being loud, but checking the reviews on it there are a few mentions of a tiny but loud fan on the LaCie. Rather perplexing since SSD's generate very little heat, maybe the thunderbolt circuitry runs hot?
  21. Just join us on the Synology bandwagon

Not personally, I've just seen screenshots of similar scams

It's spam, just a robot with a script that'll end with a link to sell you something.
