RIP someone or another
Joe Garagiola, beloved baseball announcer, dies at 90: http://wgntv.com/2016/03/23/joe-garagiola-beloved-baseball-announcer-dies-at-90/ Well written title to this article; he really was a beloved announcer. He was such an easy going guy with a great announcing voice and so many interesting stories, but he never made anything about him. It was always about the game. RIP, Joe.

RIP someone or another
Absolutely! Well said, Dan. Tyll, I know that wasn't your intention in either forwarding that heartbreaking email to Kevin in an effort to help, or in writing that beautiful tribute and posting it for everyone who loves the headphone hobby to see, or indeed in filling us in regarding this sad back story... it's not about you, and I get that. Yet, Dan's comment is the only conclusion that we can possibly draw from that chain of events and from so many similar actions on your part that have illustrated time and time again that you are indeed a good man and a blessing to all of us. Thanks for all that you do for the hobby. Didn't want to wait around until you bite the dust to say so.

True, but this thread casts a pretty wide net. I mean, considering the world's population and all of the people who have done great things with their lives, plus the fact that none of us gets much time in the grand scheme of things. So it's a celebration and a way to say thanks as well. Still depressing as hell at times though. I'll give you that.- Happy Birthday, Steve (swt61)!
Given that you're now a 'junior' senior, it's not surprising your mom had a senior moment! Glad she did remember though! Sounds like you had a good day. Oh, and happy birthday... before I forget!- Happy 30th, Colin!
Happy birthday, Colin. 30 may seem old to you, but you're still incredibly young.- The Knuckledragger 3rd Memorial Slow Forum Post

No kidding! That was something special. Some of Gordon's dunks were mind boggling. If there was such a thing as "extra credit" beyond a score of 50, he would have won the contest, hands down. Taking nothing away from Zach, who was also getting legit 50s. But even on Gordon's last dunk, he deserved a 50 rather than 47. I think some of the judges gave him 9 instead of 10 because he switched to a "safer" dunk, even though he was the only guy on the planet ever to do that dunk! That, and Levine was reigning champ and playing to his home crowd... how else to pick one over the other?- Expensive and/or raved-about headphones that actually suck!
Agree with this part of your statement.- RIP someone or another

RIP, Justice Antonin Scalia. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-35571868 Let the shenanigans begin. Obama will appoint someone. The Senate will not confirm while he's President. He'll have an interim Justice ready to appoint when the Senate is out of session. The GOP will figure out a way to always be in session. Who breaks ties in the SCOTUS? I guess the lower court ruling that was appealed to the SCOTUS would still stand... never was too excited about my con law classes.- Hifiman Shangri-La, new Electrostatic

Sayings of a Jewish Buddha..... If there is no self, whose arthritis is this? Be here now. Be someplace else later. Is that so complicated? ... Drink tea and nourish life; with the first sip, joy; with the second sip, satisfaction; with the third sip, peace; with the fourth, a Danish. Wherever you go, there you are. Your luggage is another story. Accept misfortune as a blessing. Do not wish for perfect health, or a life without problems. What would you talk about? The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single Oy. There is no escaping karma. In a previous life, you never called, you never wrote, you never visited. And whose fault was that? Zen is not easy. It takes effort to attain nothingness. And then what do you have? Bupkis. The Tao does not speak. The Tao does not blame. The Tao does not take sides. The Tao has no expectations. The Tao demands nothing of others. The Tao is not Jewish. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Forget this and attaining Enlightenment will be the least of your problems. Let your mind be as a floating cloud. Let your stillness be as a wooded glen. And sit up straight. You'll never meet the Buddha with such rounded shoulders. Deep inside you are ten thousand flowers. Each flower blossoms ten thousand times. Each blossom has ten thousand petals. You might want to see a specialist. Be aware of your body. Be aware of your perceptions. Keep in mind that not every physical sensation is a symptom of a terminal illness. From the book ZEN JUDAISM by David M Bader- RIP someone or another
