  1. Sorry about that, Larry. I truly am. At the same time, as hard as I'm sure as it must be to "see it" at times considering all that you've both been through (and will continue to go through for years to come, in one way or another)... but you we both among the lucky ones to have survived such a terrible accident. Many don't, and the point I was making really is that life can be so fickle. Here on minute, and gone the next. Thankfully, most of us are fortunate enough never to have had to experience anything so traumatic directly, and we really do wish you and your daughter a full recovery in every sense of the word.
  2. You never know. But I don't see him getting one. He's a practical guy. But even if he did, I couldn't see him being willing to travel with that amp. Checked luggage? No freaking way! Maybe FedEx it in advance of a meeting. Maybe... but that's a tough pill to swallow if anything happens to it.
  3. Quick, someone offer them $40k for that unreliable piece of shit!
  4. Jude likes them. They're the bestest of the bestest at being the bestest. Although... I suppose I could sell my Orpheus system on eBay (are they really going for $25k to $30k? that's insane)... and also sell pretty much all of the rest of my headphones and amps, and finally be able to claim that I'm a "minimalist" with this fancy hydraulic gizmo.
  5. Nice piece of satire. http://www.adweek.com/adfreak/john-sts-latest-merciless-satire-just-destroys-dove-style-marketing-women-167947
  6. Ya, because it's bad, somehow, that a company like Sennheiser would be trying to push the outer limits of what's possible when they could instead focus on making disposable earbuds for the airline market (and WalMart)... because it's always an either-or proposition and the pursuit of one automatically prevents the other.
  7. Makes sense to leave the door open for the HE10009000 and HEV10009000 for about €500,000.
  8. So it wouldn't appear that they would be interested in selling the headphones separately? Of course, they would probably want $20k or $25k for a pair... tee hee...

  10. Because we needed that... to go along with the pickup truck nuts, I guess. http://www.cosmopolitan.com/sex-love/news/a48501/scrotentote-for-sale/
  11. Best wishes for this next surgery, Larry... for an improved and hopefully as good as new left femur. Your daughter seems wise to delay her ankle fusion surgery, and is obviously bright and ambitious to be managing all of this while still performing well at Duke. Not an easy way to go to college, but it is what it is and she's soldiered on. Can't imagine anything ever stopping that girl from pursuing her dreams if this hasn't! You must be enormously proud of her, and it's good to know that there is some insurance money to pay for her college costs and set her up reasonably for law school. The ongoing medical costs are so hard to predict, so quite wise of you to be planning as best you can for that as well. In the meantime, all the best with the day by day.
  12. Nevermind.
  13. ^ Geez! I had seen that he was stepping down temporarily this season to get some medical treatment, but I didn't realize it was cancer or late stage cancer at that... watched a bunch of Wolves games on TV last year because I like to follow Andrew Wiggins, and he seemed to have a ton of respect from the players and everyone in the organization and around the league. But, short answer is... fuck cancer.
  14. Well, look at that! Steve even made you a cake! Err, well maybe he just got lucky with a Google search? Either way, you've gotta love the effort. Oh, and happy birthday!

  16. Not to mention what a shame it is to lose such a handsome old building in the neighborhood... but ya, glad you're Ok.
  17. Happy birthday, Dusty!
  18. There are sometimes several distinct strands within certain threads, but to search for them often requires a magnifying glass (at least for these tired old eyes). But it's worth the effort on occasion, especially if the thread is about scotch.
  19. Happy birthday to both of you upstanding gentlemen!
  20. Happy birthday, Vicki! Haven't seen you forever! Add me to the missing you crowd...
  21. Seriously rough thing for families to have to deal with, sometimes for years on end, and then to have to go through it all twice... I just can't imagine. Keep the good memories of your times with your brothers in your heart, as I'm sure you do, and keep on living as best you know how. As you say, some of us are blessed more so than others in terms of tolerance and the ability to keep it under control.
