Most likely yes. If he likes the original cable, it should even be possible to reattach it. But of course, that does mean ruining an expensive piece of equipment. But I'm betting the recable will at least be somewhat of an upgrade.

I'm always let down whenever I hear the Omega II. The Stax amps are just so weak and soft; the OII needs more voltage. I'm going to have to listen to the Omegas out of a KGSS or Blue Hawaii or ES-1 someday...
