Well, if they're not worse than Hammonds (which they probably aren't), it shouldn't turn out bad (they are as humanflyz said, a transformer manufacturer). We're not talking about numerous transformers either so it's not going to cost a ton to them either.

Knowing how electrets work, I'm pretty sure it's not the K340 that needs warming up but the amp.

Definitely. Does anyone think the K271S is extremely "honky" sounding - borderline unbearable? I didn't think this was the case when I owned them a few years ago, but I recently got a chance to hear them again and was greatly displeased.
