  1. I too agree that the comparison to Single Power is out of line. We all know where Justin is. Justin answers his emails. Justin has never sent out a product that was sub par (supposed $8000.00 powersupply with two floor warts inside). Justin has never skipped out on anyone that I've ever been made aware of. I think that Justin is doing his best to fulfill his orders as timely as he can, and though I can certainly understand the frustration in waiting so long, you could have chosen your words better.
  2. I'm going to try it for video and audio.
  3. While reading the new July issue of Stereophile, I came across a good article on HDMI cables. The article is mostly about the cables one achilles heal... light clamping force. The article goes on to state that the problem is not just aggravating, but can lead to cable and or socket failure. If the cable connection is dislodged too many times it can cause the cable or socket to fail permanently. They go on to give a few cable solutions, namely cables with a tighter clamping force, cables with a PC type screw connector, and finally a clamp system for use on any HDMI cable. The latter is the solution that most interested me, since I will soon be putting my A/V system together, and plan to use HDMI between my Oppo Blu-ray player & A/V receiver, and from the receiver to the plasma TV. The company is Blue Echo Solutions, and the clamp is called hd EZ lock. While maybe not the best solution for those constantly moving gear around, it seems like a good solution for my needs. It's not exactly cheap at $20.00 per pair, but can be a bargain compared to socket replacement or cable failure. I'll expound more on them once they've arrived and have been installed in my system. 4. With a cheap RC airplane.
  5. I don't blame you a bit Fitz. I wouldn't give them another dime either if treated like that.
  6. Well I've known Mark since the Audio Alchemy days, so I always circumvent the normal channels and go straight to Mark. He's always bent over backwards for me. The sub that had an amp failure was the one I bought from you, and he never gave me any grief about it being second hand. Raif, What is that next to your humidor? It looks suspiciously like the Buffalo32 that Naaman just built.
  7. Nice Mike! Yes I have two of the UFW-10 subwoofers too. I did have a problem with the amp on one of them, and after talking with Mark Schifter they replaced the amp with a newer model and covered shipping on the sub both ways. Tyrion, I just checked out Emotiva's site, and all their gear has me interested. The speakers have a no bullshit "Dusty approved" look as well. And the surround processor and multi channel amps look like bargains too.
  8. Wasn't aware of that. It's been a while since I've ordered anything from them.
  9. Did you get it from AV123? I really like their customer service. As for me ... I couldn't buy the Oppo BDP-83, and the Panasonic Viera TCP50G10 Plasma TV only to listen through the crappy TV speakers. I needed in wall speakers because of the lack of space in my small room.
  10. Great news Ian. Hope you love the new job!

    Deals

I buy Albos from Mexico. Same active ingrediant as Prilosec, but the Albos is $3.50 for 60 pills.
  12. Personally I've had great experience with LTs through the years. I could only imagine a well thought out tonearm such as the Clearaudio would be fantastic.
  13. I had one of those when they were new. I spun a heck of a lot of vinyl on that puppy. Not a bad table. I think I paid $150.00 new IIRC.
  14. Dark Knight does seem a good choice. Blade Runner would be kind of cool to have also.
  15. Would that make me the Ed Wood of ... well, wood? Just do whatever she says Fitz, and back to the door very slowly.
  16. I'm gay too you damned homophobe! Just what exactly did you mean by that derogatory remark? Ever been bitchslapped with size 13 Prada pumps?
  17. Pardon my Anime ignorance, but would Blu-ray really make much difference on an animated movie? I could be way off base here, but I can't see where the extended definition would be that noticable. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Yeah the Panny advice on here was right on target. They do indeed seem to be at the forefront of Plasma technology. I'm also interested in some really good Blu-ray recommendations for my first Blu-ray movie on my new rig when it arrives.
  18. Same TV, I'm opting for the 50" version though. Good review! Thanks for the link, there's some usable setup tweaking info in there too.
  19. Thanks Fitz. The really cool thing about living in a really small town is some of the deals you encounter. My local grocery store has recently decided to start stocking Blu-ray movies in the rental section. They not only rent for a meazly $1.00 a day, but nobody here has Blu-ray players (not in any quantity anyway), so the movies are always available too. I'm not real big on buying movies, but I rent regularly. Just had a thought...Porn on Blu-ray would either be brilliant or extremely gross.
  20. I have the same syndrome, TMSTLR. Too much shit, too little room.
  21. That depends. Do you keep the joystick hooked up even when you're not playing games, just because you like the way it feels?
  22. I'll try to remember to take some after I grout tomorrow.
  23. I tiled a shower in 7/8" mosaic tiles, one at a time! I used Blues and Blue Greens in an ocean wave pattern. "Oh yeah, that'll be a piece of cake". Me and my big mouth! The bottom was done with sand colored mosaic tiles, and I used my scroll saw to cut out shells from hand painted square tiles, then placed them randomly on the "beach". It did turn out awesome, but was about 3 times the labor involved I originally thought.
