No, I was looking at pants IIRC, that was back in '93. But you have had occasion to deal with a clothing clerk at a high end retailer, have you not? The fact that you're not in the market for mens underware is neither here nor there.
You'd have to be the worlds best saleman to get me to wrap the boys in lace. To wrap them in lace and give you $125.00, not gonna happen.
That's exactly what the salesman at Nieman Marcus told me, when he tried to get me to buy Versace lace boxer briefs for men, to the tune of $125.00 per pair.
Needless to say, my boys ain't never spent a day in lace!
For a one off design that wouldn't be at all overpriced IMO. Setting up jigs, steaming wood and laminating the veneers is labor intensive. However for a mass produced product, where the jigs are already in place, it does seem a bit high.
Well I've got an umbilicle cable that Marc made me and it's gorgeous, so I'm sure he can attend to that. While you're at it Marc, how about using some spray tack to glue some Black speaker cloth behind the grills. That really looks untidy, and I know you're as fussy as I am.
For strain relief maybe some wire ties snugged up tight on the cables ala Fitz?
Mods, please take count of members responding favorably to said funky stands and ban their asses post haste!
Actually I think they're quite cool myself. I've thought about making a steamer and some jigs for similar designs before.
The Silvery color in unfinished form and the Caramel color with a finish has me convinced. I've used a whole lot of Curly Maple, but I've never seen any with that coloration and graining.
However it's all good news IMO. Asian Satinwood is more exotic and certainly more expensive. That Caramel color is just gorgeous too!
BTW, I think your sealant idea will work great too. I'd just make damn sure I had everything masked very well with Blue masking tape first.
I'm still of the impression that the first one is Asian Satinwood. It's the grain behind the curls, and the coloring that makes me believe this. Many people sell it as Curly Maple though, because that's their first assumption. It's a beautiful wood!
Aren't all cars 10 yrs./100,000 Miles, bumper to bumper?
Oh wait, that's right, that's just my car!
The Genesis is very, very nice, and a bargain as well.
