I don't like electrostatics, I don't like electrostatics, I don't like electrostatics, I don't like electrostatics, I don't like electrostatics, I don't like electrostatics, I don't like electrostatics!
Ah, thank God, I've almost got myself convinced.
Well quite frankly there is no end to this hobby, and if there were we'd all have to find a new one. Weaving baskets just doesn't have the same appeal.
With that said however, I do think it's quite alright to let a little dust settle on a piece of gear.
Elephas it's pretty easy to tell from your rig (and what a rig it is!) that you like to do a bit of tweaking. There is another side to the hobby...it's music! So many of you seem to forget about that. Just settle into that glorious new system and listen my friend. Remember that the object is not to become a gear collector, or even to have the most expensive gear. The object is to build a system that reproduces music to a level that brings a big smile to your mug whenever you pop in a CD.
Grab an ice tea, glass of wine, scotch, whatever your preference and just enjoy some music!
Otherwise send that shit my way!
Yeah sure! Your wife is reading this, isn't she?
Reminds me of a funny little story...
I once worked with a guy who kept hounding his wife to have a 3 way (never a good idea). After about a year she finally relented, I think hoping it would get it out of his system.
So he goes to a bar and finds a suitable candidate...brings her home...has the 3 way.
Next day he's totally excited, telling me how his wife got really into it. So he's thinking 3 ways are gonna be a new way of life for he and the Mrs.
Instead within a month wifey discovers she's a lesbian and runs off with the girl.
True story!
I think I'd make a horrible parent. Or at least an extremely over protective one, because guys like that haunt my nightmares. I could be way off base, but it's guys like him that would get me arrested for installing spycams illegally.
I lost track of them years ago. I had no idea how difficult they'd be to find, or how valuable they'd become.
This was also back when headphone amps really didn't exist, and the YH-1000 really needs power to shine.
I've not heard the HD800, but I have heard the WA6 and β22.
I think both are great amps. I do find the β22 to be the more neutral of the two, so from what your wants are you may like the Woo better. It would be optimal to try both before buying of coarse.
I was walking down the signal path once, and I saw this wolf. He wanted to help me find my Grandma's house. But something made me feel uneasy. So I took my gun out from my picnic basket and pumped lead into his ass.
Oh, I didn't see any transformers.
Bastard!!!
The YH-1000 was my first high end headphone. I bought them in the early '80s, but the strut broke within a year. I replaced them with a new K340, but I'd love to find a YH-1000 again.
Congrats! Give 'em lots-o-luv!
