  1. It's still running and so far I have about 7 bad entities including SmitFraud-C and Targetsaver.
  2. I wish I could, but this hunk of junk is the only computer I have.
  3. DONE! - Use the "Immunize" feature in Spybot Search & Destroy. This feature blocks known attack vectors (primarily from Web sites) and is actually extremely useful. Don't use it!!!- Upgrade to IE7 (or IE8 ) if you're using an earlier version. DONE! - Stop using IE and use Firefox instead. WHAT!!!! That's what I do the most!!!! - Don't visit pr0n sites - or warez, torrent, or file-sharing sites for that matter either. Well - I hope that will take care of it. Thanks for the help fellas! I'll report back in a few hours. I think I'll reformat the entire HD once my pal, Mr. Baguette goes to the Post Office.

  5. Well, I got this wonderful virus that offers me free shit! The PITA, is that it launches iexplorer and when it does, my computer just freezes because it takes too long to process the request from the adware virus. If I am listening to music, the music stops and resumes 7 - 15 minutes later. Bringing up task manager to shut the damn thing down takes 5 minutes by itself. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this annoying adware?

ROFLOL!!!! I thought that was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
  7. FYI - this is a Hoffman title.

Remember people - there is MP3 and then, there is my MP3's.
  9. X 2! The few samples I have heard from the new remasters sound much like "LOVE". The team who remastered these are rather good too. I just hope the limiting was light and that the NR was indeed light handed.
  10. Are they easy to DIY? If so, anybody have any instructions?
  11. I had no idea they could do this!! That sounds like an awesome portable rig and it comes in at a price that's cheaper than a 32GB Touch. That's a tough decision. Wait...do you really need to get the ALO dock for a 5.5G iMod?
  12. Well - this thread gave me the recording bug again. I'll be going to record some live music today with my 8 inch holophonic microphone. I'll post some clips later on tonight.
  13. I have not heard this set in particular but I am a HUGE fan of Sir Charles Mackerras and his interpretations of Mozart's work.
  14. I've heard and read good things about the H2. Don't know much about the H4 though.
  15. ORTF produces some gorgeous results when done right. For field recordings, I love the dummy head and the 8 inch holophonic microphone I made. My dummy head produced AMAZING results. The front and back location of the dummy head completely beat out anything else I tried. Too bad my dog ruined it. Due to money problems and time constraints, I built a holophonic after that and have been very pleased with the results. Hopefully, I'll be able to build another dummy head soon.
  16. The first one would produce results similar to those of a dummy head. The second mics are a bit more versatile as you could set them up in various configurations. Be aware that a dummy head recording is wonderful for headphone listening but not so great for speakers. EDIT: By various configurations I mean Jeklin Disc, OSS, etc.
  17. Here is the sample. It is unprocessed, direct from my custom made 4 inch holophonic microphone to you. The recorder is a 5G iPod. Press play and turn up the volume. Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem! The picture below will give you a reference. Microphone is the red dot, placed about 15 - 20 feet away from the musicians. The arrow points to the direction the microphone was facing. The green dots are the musicians, brass facing away, woodwinds facing towards the mic, drummer in the middle. The purple spots are the path the musicians take before taking their spot. Notice they go behind the mic and then move around the left side before standing in front. The directional movement is much more noticeable on headphones but it still sounds good on speakers. There are people all over the place and you can hear the ticket scanning machines on the left. Hope you like it! Let me know what you think.
  18. Thanks for the info! I got some reading to do!
  19. The companies would like you to think that you'll be missing out on uncompressed, pure, dynamic sound. The truth, and this is just my experience, is that you will not be missing out on much. I have checked the bit rates on both blue-ray and dvd movies and in most cases, the DVD will have a higher bit rate. However, I don't know if the encoding algorithm is different and whether or not a lower bit rate for Dolby/DTS HD is actually better than any other digital encoding scheme.
  20. If your interested. I'll post some later tonight.
  21. Good to know for future projects.
  22. Yes. I don't know much about the DIY scene or many other alternatives. A little over a year ago I was saving up to buy an Apache.
