Dan was kind enough to send me a monopod, just haven't used it yet. I'll bring it next time I shoot a game.

Yup, handheld, and that's the 2.8 monster. And, thanks, I tried to use good form. Got on my knee, braced myself and breathed out. Oh, and the VR2 doesn't hurt. : ) I love that lens.

Thanks gang, and yup, D600 with the 70-200 that day. I got some other really sweet ones that I'll share. I look forward to doing some more shooting this summer. EDIT: And, nice, Gene. Love wide angle stuff.

You're right, of course. I have a bag problem.

I'm looking to get a backpack to replace my Red Oxx Rockhopper. I like the Rockhopper, but I need something that isn't a sling. The primary purpose will be a sort of day bag for the Little Monkey and me. That means 2 baseball mitts, a sweatshirt, water bottles, balls, snacks, and maybe a towel. One of the Red Oxx rucks seems cool, but I also like the Synapse. I think I would probably need the Synapse 25, but that seems like it would be too big for my short ass. What to do?

This weekend (when the Rangers were still alive) the Little Monkey was up late with my brother and me. He asked us what a "5 tool hockey player was." For those of you who don't know, 5-tools is really a baseball term: 1) Hitting for Power 2) Hitting for Average 3) Fielding Ability 4) Throwing Ability 5) Speed So we asked the Little Monkey how he thought that applied to hockey. His answer: 1) Offense 2) Defense 3) Skating 4) Scoring 5) Punching

The Little Monkey's birthday is coming up and I am thinking of getting him an iPad of some kind. Here are the minimum requirements: 32GB WiFi (no cell), new dock connector. Should I get the Mini or the Biggie? The Boy will be 7.
