  1. The Embassy Suites in Battery Park City has some decent rates: New York Hotel Accommodations - NY - Embassy Suites Hotels New York Nothing fancy, but it's not bad. It can be a pain in the ass to get around from BPC these days, though, due to the fact that the entire area is under construction (e.g., Goldman Sachs, WTC, new condos). But it's near Tribeca and you'd be near me!
  2. I'm going to buy the UE18 and then smash it into little tiny bits.
  3. I think the O2 mk1 is superior to the HD800. And I like the HD800 a lot. Am I not admitting something to myself?
  4. It would seem that Logitech is trying to capitalize on the UE brand recognition that JH helped create. I'm sure there are legions of people who don't realize that JH was Ultimate Ears.
  5. I would also rather give my money to JH Audio than to Logitech.
  6. The UE18 Pro: Ultimate Ears Announces Their New Flagship Custom IEM - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio I guess the arrival of the JH 29.2 is more imminent than we anticipated.
  7. I'm tempted by the T1. Is that wrong?
  8. Just as I had hoped.
  9. Last I heard was that Senn was taking a very hard line on undercutters by cutting them off immediately. I also heard that Senn had at least one written agreement in place with a vendor, but I do not know the content of that agreement, nor do I remember the vendor. What I do know is that Senn aggressively tested the waters with respect to resale price maintenance in the wake of a new perspective on the law, and they appear to be holding firm. Some of my info is stale by now. I'll see if I can find out if Senn is showing any flexibility now.
  10. Also the Wadia 151 PowerDAC Mini. 151
  11. heh, math is hard.
  12. Like a punch in the gut...
  13. Some interesting reading: Minerva Technical Background
  14. I don't know if we can really conclude that the Company was doing well, yet. We need to see the true underlying financials. Enron was doing well...until it wasn't. And to be sure, lots of folks made lots of money with Enron (and similar). To catch a falling knife and all that.
  15. Galway Meet.
  16. Words to live by.

Called and rebooked June 3 - June 6 at the group rate. Thanks, Jim.
  18. Del Friscos is a solid suggestion.
  19. Agree. They were an underrated band.

    I guess there's always head-control, too.
  21. It's really a hidden gem of a tourist event. And then you're down at the Battery, which is the one of the oldest/historic sections of town. It also provides some sense of the cool geography (i.e., the fact that this city is just this little island) that you don't really get from other perspectives.
  22. I'll have some moar suggestions later, but for now, if you want steak, then you want Peter Luger's. Also, have you been to NYC before? One thing I recommend to all first-timers is to take a round trip on the Staten Island ferry. It's free, and you get to see the harbor, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and all that crap. In my opinion, it is simply beautiful and should not be missed.

Hm, should I cancel and re-reserve? Something tells me I should just leave it.
