Why not to accept "gifts" when selling items on Paypal.
Maybe he works for Koss.

Koss fraud. Wow, not good.
^Agree, and even if it isn't the case, there's certainly the perception. And I would bet that Koss's vendors are now clamoring for any outstanding invoices to be payed ASAFP.

I think the Maytag/Whirlpool merger was an even more egregious example of the previous admin's attitude about antitrust. But those days are over. We've already seen how aggressive/active the competition authorities are going to be (e.g., Wireless investigation, Intel, revision of the Horizontal Merger Guidelines). So much so that the current admin actually asked them to back off given the state of the economy. We can expect a very different antitrust landscape over the next few years.

Good point, Nate, and I agree. There are new sheriffs in town, though, and I think PP should be concerned after DOJ/FTC have finished with their first round of fish-fry.

I'm hoping the more financially-savvy will pipe in, but that won't stop me from spouting some bullshit. Putting aside for the moment, the potential cash implications, I can think of the following issues. 1) It is very difficult to valuate the Company now, which will put downward pressure on the stock price when it resumes trading. 2) The valuation issues could also lead to rating downgrades if they haven't already. 3) The Company's lenders, probably spooked already, will walk or start raising rates to cover risk. 4) There will almost certainly be fallout litigation against the Company (e.g., Securities and ERISA suits). So while BK might not be imminent, you can see how it could be coming. Also, the Company now needs to consider what is in the best interest of shareholders (although that may be mitigated by the Koss family's ownership stake) or, down the road, creditors, which could result in a distressed sale.

College Football 2009
Yeah, he had some rocky patches, but the fumble wasn't really his fault as it was a Corner Blitz from the blind side that his line decided not to pick up at all. He was nearly decapitated. I also was unimpressed with the play of most of the Texas WRs. Lots of dropped passes and even some questionable effort at some points. The last INT was a deflection that I think should have been caught. But 2 of the INTs were awful rookie mistakes. And 2 of his turnovers lead directly to 14 points. McCoy was a class act in the on-field post-game interview. Fighting back tears, he said how disappointed he was, then praised his team, his backup, and 'bama. Seemed like a nice kid. As an aside, if your name is Colt McCoy and you aren't a QB, race car driver, or top porn star, then you're doing something wrong. Overall, I thought it was a good game that reflected well on college football. The announcing was dreadful, though. Brent Musburger sounds like he might have had a stroke.

Which brings me back to the point that I think it odd that one of the cc company's fraud/risk department's did not pick this up sooner.

It was a better game than the score indicates because Texas' star QB was injured. His true freshman replacement made a bunch of mistakes, but also brought them within a field goal before the game got out of hand at the end. Fun to watch a kid perform well in a situation like that.

Shitty tech aside, you just came up with a pretty great new event for the Summer Olympics.- gPhone
I feel like we're in a weird holding pattern with respect to tech. I know that CES always has it's fair share of "and it'll be available next year!" and just pure vaporware, but it seems like there's more of that than usual. Maybe it's just me. I suppose some of it could be due to the fact that the companies are scratching their eyeballs out trying to get share prices up now that they've cut headcount to the bone, so might as well try to scare up as much buzz-related stock spike as possible. It's a pain in the ass; I don't like waiting around for stuff. On a completely unrelated note, I think history will reflect that Verizon played the AT&T/iPhone deal perfectly.- JH Audio stuffs
I asked for smoky blue and they couldn't do it. - Post the last thing you bought!
