getting a Parasound D/AC-1100
After further listening, I am now pretty sure that I will sell the Dodson and keep the 1100. I think the Dodson is just slightly better overall, but it is not necessarily $1k better (which is roughly the spread on the used market), especially considering what may be possible with modz. I love the Dodson, but I think my DAC strategy now is to have my one bang-for-the-buck 90s DAC, and see how things progress this year now that it appears the DAC is back on the audio industry's map. I'm still tempted by the PS Audio PWD.

General DAC Questions/Tech Thread
Another basic question: Why does firewire not suffer from the same limitations that one finds with most USB DAC implementations? Or, put another way, is FW SQ the same as S/PDIF?

New Weiss DAC202 w/headphone amp
I wonder if high end DAC manufacturers will be able to sustain these prices. This space is only getting more competitive, and the economy is still in the shitter and not likely to come back strong any time soon. $6500 is a lot of money.

Amarra "Mini" -- $395
Yeah, Amarra is probably afraid of not working Jeff. Their customer service is good, right?

I wish the Nexus 1 had a real fucking keyboard.

Amarra "Mini" -- $395
I know there's an approved hardware list, but is it safe to assume that Amarra is compatible with all DACs at this point? Or is that stupid?

Amarra "Mini" -- $395
Ugh, that's tempting. I really wish it had more of the EQ stuff of the full-blown version.

Are wireless cans that big a deal?

I may just get the Nexus One for work. EDIT: when it comes to a provider that works in NYC, that is (i.e., Verizon).

Samsung Jack?
Thanks, much appreciated. I think I've heard similar grumblings.

Samsung Jack?
Does anyone have experience with this device. For some unknown ridiculous reason, my company only supports Windows Mobile devices. The device they supply is the Samsung Jack (on horrible ATT). This is the free and easy option. I could get another (Windows Mobile) device and have them jam it into the network, but I'm not sure how much of the tab they'll pick up. So for the moment, I'm trying to determine whether the Samsung Jack at least approaches the business feature set of a Blackberry or whether this is just a waste of time.

Sennheiser at CES 2010
Yeah, John, I'm sure you are limited in what you can say about what you know, if anything; however, if you are privy to any info, can you at least characterize whether any new products would be of interest to this particular group?
