Shelly, yeah, there's a place in Manhattan recommended by Sonus, which people at HF have used successfully. The woman in NJ is officially recommended by JH, but I'm not even really sure what that means. I suppose the distinction between impressions and "all star" impressions are not important as long as they fit.

Regardless of the pricing, this is very cool news to me. I guess I'm exactly the kind of sucker who will buy this stuff at a premium. EDIT: Hmmm....It seems, though, that Rhino is using "Hi Def" to mean lossless and not 24/96 or the like. Mos Def not cool.

Just spoke to Beth who seemed very cool. Only problem is that she is located in Bergen NJ, which is inconvenient for me and it would cost $200 all in for impressions if Beth came to NYC. Still, she is definitely JH Audio recommended.

Having heard both now, I prefer the 1100 to the 1000. I think the 1100 is a pretty good DAC.

Went to the Jets game. Jets won in a snore fest. Drank some beer.

I do believe one drinks moonshine while enjoying opossum.

An update. I sent these in to AT USA for repair. Didn't hear anything for a couple of days. So I left a voicemail with their service department (I had requested an estimate because I did not have receipt for warranty repair). A woman left a voicemail for me shortly thereafter stating that the phones were repaired free of charge and were on their way back. I don't have them yet, but will update once I've received them. So far, though, AT USA is getting two opposable thumbs up.

My parents just got one of the 8500 series and it is pretty great, but I am by no means a videophile.

I know, I know. But I like the 1000 and I wanted to compare the 1100. And I'm thinking about modding one of them and I'm crazy.
