  1. They could probably lower the price on the transformers somewhat, seeing how they are first and foremost transformer manufacturers. Could just be a case of in-house subsidizing.
  2. I just saw this on Lloyd's website, and he has a newsletter describing the various technical changes that went into the new model: http://hollowstate.netfirms.com/Branches5.pdf
  3. If you are interested in the Ring cycle, the Solti boxset is a standard recommendation.
  4. Need more pictures please At that price, I might just get them, since they won't be as hard to drive as the O2s.
  5. I don't know, I haven't found a headphone setup yet that can somehow trick me into thinking that I'm at a live show. I think the biggest reason for me is just the dynamics.
  6. http://www.head-direct.com/product_detail.php?p=22 This is the link: it's called the Heaudio EH-1.2. Other than that, no information.
  7. Saw her live last month when she played at Berkeley, and yes, she's definitely easy on the eyes, and more my age
  8. It's UC Berkeley's own chorus/orchestra, so it's not exactly world-class. But then, I only paid $4, so it's not a bad deal.
  9. Saw Mozart's Requiem last night.
  10. Well, the year is almost over, so what else are you looking forward to for 2007? My list : And the Radiohead album in physical form.
  11. It doesn't matter, the HD2, if I am correct, has balanced input transformers, so the signal that is being put out is balanced regardless of the source.
  12. Holy shit you live in Monterey Park?! I went to high school there, and my family's still there.
  13. You know Cali' is where it's at. West Siiidde!

The speakers in his office are e-stats? I recall them having cone-like drivers but with a ribbon/planar tweeters. But that's good to know.

So I'm not the only one to notice these things. Speaking of hi-fi in TV, House has a pretty sweet setup too. If I remember correctly, he has some Duvelle omni-speakers, a SOTA tt (not sure which model), and don't remember what CDP.
  16. Well, he obviously couldn't stand the heat.
  17. I expect a lot of impressions + photos
  18. http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?ampstube&1200283821 I'm very tempted. As for noise floor, it shouldn't be a problem with my HD650s.

    TVCs for the win.
  20. @Jon: Do you know if the headphone section on the Almarro is directly connected to the main outputs, or did they put a resistor in the path to decrease noise? Also, what kind of trannies do Almarro use? And what about the various upgrade options that I've seen over at Response Audio and Imagine HiFi? Are any of those worth it?
  21. This is not even a contest lol.
