  1. That's just one example of K2 mastering. The Emerson, Lake and Palmer K2 remasters sound god awful. !!! This is exactly the problem with the EL&P K2 CDs. I haven't heard the K2 24 bit jazz remasters, but people at SH say they're bright as well.
  2. You guys expect a lot for
  3. Work out running, or running from the police/authorities and such?
  4. XRCD is redbook.
  5. The amp isn't an Audio Technica. And why this particular amp? I don't think anyone that has heard higher end amps thought this one was anything special.
  6. Move out of Ohio there is good NFL to be had
  7. Therein lies your problem. Good headphones don't need DSPs to sound good. They just sound good. Video game music Reks I thought we turned on the must be at least 13 years of age filter?
  8. I really dislike Mofi's mini-LP packagig. Mainly because it's difficult to avoid shelf wear on the cardboard, and it's not replacable like a jewel case. The Art Pepper disc in question is nice since it's individually numbered in gold lettering. Space isn't really an issue for me, so I prefer jewel or even better super jewel cases. The old DCC/MFSL lift lock cases are still my favorite (smooth top).
  9. Playoff basketball is usually that good. It's not such an ass kicking like it was in the Olympics, other than for maybe this most recent Celts v Lakers
  10. I desperately need to update my PC. I think I'm probably going to sell my ESP/950 and use the money for an E2180/4 GB memory/GA-EP35 board and HD4850. The O2 just beat the Koss in every way and I haven't listened to the Koss too much since I got them back.
  11. I'm enjoying the Stax pro transformer with the Audio Space EL34 amp TheSloth sent me in ultralinear mode. I can't wait to hear a Blue Hawaii. Go electrostat for the gaming pc as well I like the O2 a lot more than the bass heavy and bass light K340 I had. I've been tempted by the SR-001 MK2 a lot of times as well, but I don't really listen to music outside the house.
  12. BPH?
  13. Small update, I've had these for a decent amount of time now to form a more solid impression. They are so far the best headphones I've owned, they really let the music come alive. Even though the soundstage isn't that big, their intimate nature and the way they handle micro and macrodynamics gives everything its proper size, so that gives music a lot of PRaT. I'm still awestruck by how good the bass is, and I think it should only improve with a better amp. They are the complete oposite of the Koss, where the O2 really doesn't have a distinct laid back or upfront sound signature. It really depends on what you're listening to. Whereas all other headphones seem to add a coloration to how music is presented.
  14. Happy birthday Tyll, many more in good health. And a big thanks for all that you've done for this hobby.

    RS1's?

That's an outrageous price, no wonder he hasn't sold them
  16. Do you want to use your dummy accounts to apply to: deepak ? Group at Last.fm Because that's a lot of work to create that many accounts
  17. I actually like the SR-60 more than the SR-225 (with flats or bowls). The SR-225 are just too bright with an upper midrange glare, wheras the SR-60 is the opposite; it rolls off the treble fairly early so it's a lot more comfortable to listen to over long periods. I had the SR-225 twice, and I could never use them for more than an hour at a time even at low volumes.

    RS1's?

I agree with this. I can't imagine it was cheap to manufacture those HP-1000 enclosures.
  19. These days I'm not very discriminating with brand name. Even the cheap stuff like Aeropostale holds up pretty well to abuse. I do love Armani Collezioni shirts, and don't really buy any other brand to wear to work. No other shirts I've tried have the stitching, fit, and overall quality of those. And for suits Ermenegildo Zegna.
  20. Holy crap yes those too.
  21. Oh yes Levis Silver Tabs were really popular when they came out in Canada.
  22. I was just thinking about some of the clothing fads in my younger days. One of the earliest fads I remember in middle school was Starter. They made work out or athletic clothing along the lines of Reebok, etc. I remember getting a Saskatchewan Roughriders Starter winter jacket one Christmas that was the coolest thing for a while. Later on a Red Wings Starter t-shirt that has the design to look like a movie poster, the movie being called "Wings of Fire" with the players names listed in the small print in the credits. I still have that shirt and love it. Another was Guess. Guess jeans, shirts, watches were pretty popular as well in my school around '96. And No Fear. Those damn shirts with the edgy slogans on the back were way too popular, and sure enough I hopped on that hype train as well. Those are the only three that really stand out, but I'm sure there were a lot more.
  23. I tried creating my own private group for the signature album art image to work, but you need at least ten members in the group to get weekly charts :'(

    RS1's?

Given Grado's poor quality control I wouldn't be surprised if there is significant variation in sound amongst various RS-1s.
