  2. sign PJ up for the group buy.
  3. If you cast off your emotional attachments to the first two albums, you'll realize that everything post-Pinkerton is garbage.
  4. I predict with 100% confidence that the new weezer album will be just awful.
  5. Hoffman marketplace.
  6. This is great news, thanks for the heads up Al! If the 4070 was my can, the GES would be my amp.
  7. at the price I got them at I'd have a hard time letting them go, even if speakers followed by the HD650 get more headtime.
  8. [me=postjack]drinks deeply of the delicious staxen-aid [/me]
  9. i think this might be the most sweeping HC FOTM we've had. true we have more regular posters now then ever, but still, wow. i blame staxman spritzer.
  10. Actually the one you are looking for was manufactured in the UK in 1985. Your best bet for securing an actual physical copy is via the marketplace on the Steve Hoffman forum. Lots of Genesis CDs change hands there. Also YGPM.
  11. I must have forgotten to hit "post", I thought I'd done this earlier in the morning. ah well. Metallica - ...And Justice For All (NM original vinyl pressing) TMBG - s/t (vinyl, pretty sure its original) Velvet Underground - White Light, White Heat (vg+ vinyl reissue for $5)
  12. Though I don't completely discount the idea of complimentary synergy, I too tend towards what I once read Jahn call "additive" synergy. My 840C > 840A > Quad 12L is a great example of this, with a super clean sound from top to bottom, and a cool but liquid midrange with good treble extension in all three components. Also, the way you organize your records looks kind of like the way I organize mine in the extra bedroom, which has become the "throw all your audio crap in here" room.
  13. just preordered the watershed vinyl + CD. $30 shipped direct from relapse. not bad really. I love bands that include the CD with the vinyl.
  14. one step baby, s'all you need! grats on the sweet OII deepak.
  15. the cary is my dream source! tell me more! nice modwright 777es as well. i hate that dan doesn't mod them anymore.
  16. good get deepak. I'd like a comparison between the Diament and MFSL Exodus if you could oblige. Me: Megadeth - Peace Sells, but Who's Buying (original Combat release) Megadeth - So Far, So Good, So What (original Combat release) Mogwai - Young Team (recent re-release, remastered with extra disc) Neil Young - Reactor
  17. chef salad from lennys sub shop. Very tasty!
  18. Nice. I would say it takes between 100 & 250 posts before optimum performance is achieved.
  19. postjack replied to Dominatrice's topic in Games
I was an early adopter of Vanguard, and it was definitely not ready for prime time upon release. Has it gotten better/less buggy?
  20. great topic, and I look forward to other responses, because my answer is I have no idea. I find I mostly don't rip my classical and just listen to the CD. \
  21. Morbid Angel - "Altars of Madness" UK First Pressing Mastered by Nimbus Huzzah for non-brickwalled death metal!
  22. gang starr is still the greatest IMO.
  23. yup, the mac n chee is still delicious! as is the chop steak and liver and onions. its a great place to eat good cheap and fast. I don't know if I've ever been to sonn'ys.
  24. Cool thread. Today I woke up at 9:30am, played video games, mowed the lawn (reminds me its that time of the year to bump an old thread). Then my girlfriend came over and we ate lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. Then I met my parents for dinner at Morrisons. Then more video games, then music.
