Monday Music Mayhem
If you cast off your emotional attachments to the first two albums, you'll realize that everything post-Pinkerton is garbage.

This is great news, thanks for the heads up Al! If the 4070 was my can, the GES would be my amp.

at the price I got them at I'd have a hard time letting them go, even if speakers followed by the HD650 get more headtime.

Actually the one you are looking for was manufactured in the UK in 1985. Your best bet for securing an actual physical copy is via the marketplace on the Steve Hoffman forum. Lots of Genesis CDs change hands there. Also YGPM.

Me and my Zana Deux (+ pics)...
Though I don't completely discount the idea of complimentary synergy, I too tend towards what I once read Jahn call "additive" synergy. My 840C > 840A > Quad 12L is a great example of this, with a super clean sound from top to bottom, and a cool but liquid midrange with good treble extension in all three components. Also, the way you organize your records looks kind of like the way I organize mine in the extra bedroom, which has become the "throw all your audio crap in here" room.

just preordered the watershed vinyl + CD. $30 shipped direct from relapse. not bad really. I love bands that include the CD with the vinyl.

good get deepak. I'd like a comparison between the Diament and MFSL Exodus if you could oblige. Me: Megadeth - Peace Sells, but Who's Buying (original Combat release) Megadeth - So Far, So Good, So What (original Combat release) Mogwai - Young Team (recent re-release, remastered with extra disc) Neil Young - Reactor

Is this the anti head-fi forum or what?
Nice. I would say it takes between 100 & 250 posts before optimum performance is achieved.

EQ2??
I was an early adopter of Vanguard, and it was definitely not ready for prime time upon release. Has it gotten better/less buggy?

How do you tag classical music?
great topic, and I look forward to other responses, because my answer is I have no idea. I find I mostly don't rip my classical and just listen to the CD. \

What did you do today?
Cool thread. Today I woke up at 9:30am, played video games, mowed the lawn (reminds me its that time of the year to bump an old thread). Then my girlfriend came over and we ate lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. Then I met my parents for dinner at Morrisons. Then more video games, then music.
