KGSSHV, Balanced Dynahi Rev A and DynaFET board run
Precisely. I was referring to the inrush hit the trafo, rectifier and filter caps are taking repeatedly.

KGSSHV, Balanced Dynahi Rev A and DynaFET board run
This prolly isnt the right thread for this discussion, but yes it is working again. I highly recommend adding a soft-start circuit to avoid current inrush damage to the power supply components when powering up the KGSSHV. Now back to 100 KGSSHV board sets and counting...

If you pinch every penny, spend wisely paying the lowest possible price for parts, and not have to pay taxes or shipping costs, you could probably do it for that much. Originally, my KGSSHV was $800. I went the total econo-route. This was before buying replacement parts and upgrading the trafo and attenuator, and installing a soft start circuit. Currently, I have $1100 in it.

I like the fact that they are "glod pins".

It uses little 30 volt donuts instead of 500 volt hummers? Seriously, KG will need to enlighten you. I am aware that in the past some DIY guys have used the Sigma 22 psu for their dyna*** builds. That psu kit aint cheap. $111 from Glass Jar Audio.

"Go back jack, do it again". Oops, different album. Steely Dan rocks! Listened to them when that CD was vinyl, in college.

I'm in for a T2 board set and a KGSSHV side-sink board set. *Many thanks to Lil Knight for heading up this group buy. *Thanks to KG for designing and redesigning (over and over and over...) the KGSSHV. *Thanks to Kerry for your design and prototyping support.

No T2 board sets up for grabs? I want a set to squirrel away like a nut.

The Headcase Stax thread
Yeah I saw it. Obviously done before the early production problems surfaced. The top flight stat amp makers got some airtime as well, although he was really schillin the Woo. Long live the BHSE!

Mr KG, Are you going to post a schematic & overlay jpeg for your latest creation? When I have more time I'll whip out the gerber viewer to see wazzup.

New DAC in Town
That $4K Invicta Sabre DAC is impressive but their comparing it in some odd way to a 1935 tube radio from another company is lame.

Balancing Act
Wow! I really liked the focus and associated product progression presented in the IF review by recstar24 as opposed to 6Goons all over the place, lets compare this to everything else style. Also in the IF review, I actually learned something regarding the benefits of the BA 40kHz AC heater approach. The article actually makes me wanna go out and buy a BA. Of course the BHSE will have to come first... I really need to get out there and hear the BA with some LCD2's.
