  1. I went back and did some talking to my practicing bud's..anyway First off the breaker has to be a gfci (a ground fault breaker) to save your ass. most common breakers in your house ARE NOT GROUND FAULT. I was wrong there... second off i went back to my original reply and yes 110 can kill you (as in if someone has you tied up with exposed wires), again my reply above you see where i was coming from thought wise (re-wiring outlet), to answer and correct my reply..Yes 110 can kill you..yes I was wrong on that. I think I should of said wiring the outlet wont kill you (again you'll pull away way to fast)...should not have said 110 won't kill you. before anyone would actually be willing to do a re-wire job for the first time I always state the safety and security in doing so of course..(i never fuck around with outlet's etc..then again I learned the hard and ugly side of it). safety in talking the steps to make sure there is no live power running, testing with the tools to make double sure, knowing what your touching at all moments, knowing your area, etc and Security of not having a all out fear but not be lax-ed and cocky. so I stand myself corrected, 110 can kill.
  2. as i said in the reply above I meant 110 won't kill or can't kill you cause a healthy human being wiring an outlet will take the common sense (pending) and not be wet/damp/etc and even if you get a shock first you'll let go (you can not make yourself hold on, your body will over ride it..sort to say) or throw you off the wires and at the very least (if you can not let go ) the breaker should kick in and shut down power. in that case no it will not.. fraction of a second, the breaker should trip in (i think, its been a awhile here) like 20-30milliseconds..the breaker (again thats last line of chance) usually never has the chance to trip cause the reaction is so fast to pull away its amazing...its probably why everytime a kid/child sticks something in an outlet they are not killed. under the conditions that are most likely to happen (I actually never heard of anyway other then that happening) you can not die/killed from 110. nice job at copy/paste though.
  3. and why not Jb.. first off AC Vs Dc.. Ac will always cause you to let go and do this fast, its a shock and your body's natural reaction is to let go. sometimes (pending) ac will throw you back, like really throw you off and back a few feet (well you get the point). Dc will paralyze you and you won't be able to let go..nor will it throw you back..your can (pending) get almost stuck on to it...you'll be fucked. Dc is also the same way your brain uses to send signals, in other words it can easily do damage quicker then ac. if your wet and playing with 110ac your fucked, your in poor health..your fucked, if you cant let go and the breaker does not trip...oh boy your fucked hardcore. When I made my first reply I meant 110 won't kill or can't kill you cause a healthy human being wiring an outlet will take the common sense (pending) and not be wet/damp/etc and even if you get a shock first you'll let go (you can not make yourself hold on, your body will over ride it..sort to say) or throw you off the wires and at the very least (if you can not let go ) the breaker should kick in and shut down power. and I am not getting defensive but i am not the one who started the high school games of calling names niether....please consider going to the nat meet.. love to hang out with you.. *
  4. I don't work as a electrician as a career,or should I say practice it everyday as a job, few reasons why I was licensed was to gain knowledge (if i win the lotto i would get every PhD i could in my life),help my company to become smarter (BBA was also done for this), if needed to be i can safety Re-wire an outlet for a needed plug (some products have twist lock connectors and you need a twist lock outlet..only done this twice.)... as I said in my post I don't do it as a career, nor would I wire something in someones house if asked to...its not my job, i can but i won't.
  5. First off let Mr. Gilmore (since you seem to include him in) come in and explain why an someone would tell you 110 won't kill you..remember where talking about wiring of an outlet not standing in a tub of water.. second we all showed everyone of level of maturity with the names...sure your Internet penis may feel big but you showed everyone how small you are (at least in your head). third..Jb ..um are you going to the national meet by any chance? if so then i will be there and you will have your chance to call me that in my face.. really.. (this includes anyone else that may feel the need and be at that meet). Fourth honestly are you worth my time to explain anything? no.. but I will tell you that 110 will not kill (as in wiring an outlet) (on dry land...lol). how many children have been shocked? do they die? no like I said I have been three times and they hurt like hell but you can shake them (the shock) off after a few mins. second time I did was bad..felt like every blood cell in my body was on fire...don't get me wrong its not something you want to do but its not commonly something you get killed from. and as far as the ground wire goes Chicago code is to run conduit (few exceptions)..so instead of running a third wire most people use the conduit as a ground, cheaper then another wire and easier.. lots of places that don't use metal pipes (conduit) have to use a third wire.. so Jb coming to the nat meet?
  6. when pigs fly...Should be soon..
  7. lol umm buddy car's are DC, DC will kill you not A/C..and as far as anything else you shot out of your mouth.... also this may be the time for you stick your little words in your tough mouth cause you understand i own a lighting production company and I AM .. READ THIS CLOSE OK? A licensed Electrician..and tested and passed two years back...I don't use this as a Career but instead of installing on my business,, then again this would not be the first time you put your mouth in your foot...and you cant edit it. congrats on making yourself look like shit.
  8. grounded in terms of a separate third wire you mean? if then no your wrong..most buildings are wired with two wire (hot, cold) and no separate Ground wire..instead they use the gang box (metal) as a ground (the box is attached to metal pipes also), but there is no third wire. the ground is made by the metal brackets touching the box itself...merry Christmas it has been grounded. I have many of ground testers (most power strips have these also) and every one has lit up as being grounded..but like I said there is no third actual wire being run. and as far as risking your life is pure bullshit, 110/120 volts will NOT kill you. fuck it wont even fuck you up for a long time. this is one of the smaller reasons why America is ran this way. also there is the thing called a circuit breaker or fuse btw...and again one of the reasons for this is just in case someone gets a shock. I have been shocked three times and yeah it hurts but you rite back up a few seconds (thank god for breakers and 110). as far as the ground being a fire hazard um..no again. what can cause a fire (and the major concern, and only one) is hot and cold touchy touchy something and bye bye home. make sure the wires a seated in the outlet and secured like a mother fucker and there will never be a problem..wires come loose you screwed. having the outlet is the second most important thing to a system, the contact is what its all about..tight contact equals good contact.
  9. I would look into an Outlet if I were you. sounds like B/S but I heard a huge difference from my older outlet (something hosp grade forgot the name) to a Oyaide SWO-XXX outlet. I would put the outlet second to room acoustics as the most important part of a setup, really. If you only have two wires going to the outlet you can still have a ground as long as the outlet is mounted in a metal box..not a true hardcore ground but its a ground (most older homes have this. My dedicated line is only two wires also). For less then $100 if worth a shot on the Oyaide but there are shit loads of other outlets out there also, hooking it up is easy as shit.
  10. don't know but i am sure that as squished as they are i know i can still fit my face in between..
  11. is done perfectly by this kid. so damm perfect he has to be in a family of them. No offense to Italians (me 50%) but this kid has every Italian person I seen in all my years of working in dance clubs done so perfect! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T089ytzX3LQ&eurl= warning strong language, keep the speaker down at work
  12. When I do go portable its with the ipod>Turbo dock 2 > cardas hpi > tomahawk > Sensaphonics. if I am staying away from home then i usually bring this set up cause i want the best sound I can get portable, and yes my ears know they dont have mR. G08 but it will tie me over for a few days. also I like the battery life of the toma and the synergy between the amp and my sensa's. I of course go ipod cause of the vast amount of songs on it. I usually bring some Koss clip on phones as backs up just in case my Toma or Sensa's go down..I am not running my $750.00 iem's out of a ipod headphone jack that has been rumored to screw up ear buds. I will go ipod headphone out with my koss cans cause at the $10. i picked them up for it wont bother me if they broke, and by that time i would be more pissed about something going wrong with my sensa's or toma. in my jacuzzi last year i only used my ipod and koss cans mostly cause I didn't want to drop anything in the water and mess up something that costs big bucks. Ipod usually was in a zip lock bag and that would give me enough time to take it out of the water if she fell in. I would be plenty happy going just ipod and koss clips portable all the time really, but the Sensa's sound and look so bad ass that you must for a long trip (amazing fucking headphones on a plane!).
  13. what happens if all i had was "spare time"? i mean then it really would not be doing this in my "spare time" would it?
  14. I had pauls autoformer thingys before..simple but they do as stated or what he intends them to do. sure the really do the job but they turn your tube amp into a solid state and the tube amp will clip faster...in other words why not just go solid state and sell both?..still i liked them and he makes a damm good product, well he is pretty honest and cool. never tried the i/c's before but wouldnt pulse to niether
  15. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=5a29f081d0 warning the goats go down slowly, entrance was awesome though!
  16. let me know I will trade you some power cables,,sounds like a joke but I got alot of them not being used.
  17. thats the cutest little almost stackable setup I have seen! you need to get a really skinny rack and place the skinny trans/dac and the skinny sp amp on it! I must admit this is the first SP thats really got me looking, I like the layout and the tubes used..different.. is that a different case or a standard sp case turned around?

actually most of them are, but the "magic" point is what Grado does with the drivers for each set of headphones..mostly dampening the stock driver to work with his sound in mind for the set. Getting stock Grado drivers are easy (if you know where they get them from), the tricky part is tuning the shit out of them to work well with the housing..there are alot of things that go into making a set of headphones.. I played with it before and its harder then one might expect, if this post was in the Casino i may something more or two..
  19. My fav of the Grado line that I have now..to me the hf-1 was a best buy for $200. My g08 was the best of the best deals ever, cant say how much I did pay but even in 5 years I can sell it used and still make profit. My sixpacs used were a great buy also, I wont say how much again just in case I will sell them later. as far as using the item goes my 600's at $170 shipped was amazing..still my main headphone today. I bought 6 sets of mit Term-3 interconnects for something like $80 for all of them.. I coolest buy was from an ebay auction of untested 12au7's. i think there was 60 of them for something like $20. I tested half of them and only 9 were bad, had a shit load of matched pairs (perfectly matched), and a few perfect matched quads, also all the rest are good enough to sell. the lot came with rca clear tops,Baldwin (raython) yellow label black plates, Salvania's and I forgot the rest..
  20. just in case this gets lost in your array of posts..lol
  21. so you work for Single power customer service now? I had the raptor almost a month before jude got his and further to any "user" received his, and dont get me started on the lunchbox,or b-52. point is I dont work for Ray so any questions anyone has I tell them to go to Ray and answer. dude your cool and all but if later I heard you have more in SP then just a customer I would not be surpised at all, dude no one and mean no person who is just a customer ever posted so much shit about a company, come on man........ stop the bullshit, i am not the only one here who thinks it. I wouldnt call you a shill but I would say your the customer service tech..lol
  22. are we going to reply 54 out 220 times in this thread also? in fact mods can we make this one a sticky, might as well save SACD some time from bumping it back up, and back up, and back up, etc
  23. you dont have a back up so you can bring it back? then again if you did then it probably would of been done..lol
  24. I had a good talk with Ray about this the other day. alo is doing the same shit as RNB did as terms of pricing and what not, just like rnb is this guy going to vanish also? rnb and alo these guys are funny cause they sell $140+ mini to dock cables yet what overhead do they have? how many distributors do they need that mark up for? how many dealers they have to make them so damm costly? I compared a big ass alo dock with cable to my turbo dock 2 and cardas hpi using a burned in tomahawk and my sensas and my ipod. heard alittle brighter but nothing more to much. then again I didnt sit down and compare for hours but I am sticking with my setup.. My engima's (which my entire home rig is line with them) dont cost that much..and thats connecting a $4,400 cdp to a $5,000 pre to $2500+ (including mods and tubes used) monoblocks to $2900 speakers...and i am not mentioning the turntable>phonostage>pre which is also done by engima cable.(mit speaker cable used..$300 used) sorry i dont believe there is any justifying a mini-dock for anything over $50...no fucking way. i can see cardas having such a high cost cause they have employees and people after people needing to sell their stuff..needing room for mark up. but a headfier selling this to other is just taking advantage of other members strait out. engima any news on new cables from you? I need shielded rca's for my turntable also. why dont you do a dock to mini and sell it low as fuck?
