Its called "soap opera effect". A lot of "purists" refuse to use the 120hz or 240hz modes when watching a movie because of this. You might try disabling it and seeing which you prefer. From what I have read, that calibration disc seems to be a pretty good one.

I guess I just worded it wrong. I have been to other concerts since then but it was the best I had ever been to. Maybe it was the drugs.

I was reading a review the other day between a group of players that were capable of streaming Netflix. The review stated that the audio was in stereo, not DD, and the the HD video was not even close to Bluray. If this is true, I don't see the benefit of Netflix streaming unless instant gratification is that important. Wouldn't quality be worth a day or two wait for the disc to come in the mail.

According to the owner of the mom and pop I shop at, that theory might be wrong. Right now he is having trouble getting inventory. He says that because of the economy, manufacturing has been reduced. I have been waiting about 45 days for a particular model that is on backorder. I have pretty much decided on a plan B, but I would like to see this particular set before I pull the trigger. Will probably just say fuck it and go to plan B if it is not in by Xmas. Also, if you check around online you will see a lot of the higher end sets are listed as on backorder or unavailable.

The main benefit I get from Bluray is the audio. When it comes to the video I tend to get so wrapped up in the movie I can't tell a lot of difference between DVD and Bluray. I have two LG LCD's and a Toshiba Cinema Series rear projection. When it comes to movies I actually prefer the picture on the Toshiba and it is only 720p/1080i. It is more film like to me. But for regular programing the LCD's dominate. That being said I would only buy a 1080p set which I intend to do for Xmas and it will be LG 55LH90.

Agree with that, although Dish and Directtv seem to have a lot of 1080p.

Difference between the Panny G10 and V10 series is the V10 is the current top of the line. Samsung plasmas are the panels that seem to have the worst buzzing issue right now. As far as 1080p vs 720p goes, most cable signals are not 1080p anyway. I am on Cox and the best I get is 720p. Check out the LG LH90 series TV's. Right now they seem to be the best bang for the buck tv out there. There panels seem to be more reliable that the Samsungs right now. I have seen the LG55lh90's go in the low 2k's. I own two LG's and have not had any problems at all. You might also look at the Toshibas. They are a very affordable set. They seem to have resolved a lot of their issues and are much better this year.

I had the HFI-780's for a few weeks and just never did "get" them. Sold them an moved on.

I have had really good luck with LG's. They seem to be a pretty good bang for the buck brand.

Just got 16 gig 3 GS Iphone friday. I have 3 itunes libraries on seperate computers. Music is on home pc and podcasts only on laptop and workplace pc. I set iphone to manually manage files (no synching). I do the same thing with my ipods (5G 30 gig, 80 gig Classic, and 3G nano) and am able to go back and forth from library to library. The iphone will not let me do this. When I try, I get message that it is already synched to a library and will wipe out what I have on iphone and synch to new library. The iphone is set to manualy manage music and videos, not synch. What gives?

Who knows. Maybe coaches stick together. One would think if that were true Carol would have never let him transfer. I know the kid can play though. I have seen him in both high school and college.

I would love to see Mustain get a shot. Kid was a Parade All-American in high school. Was 7 and 0 as a starter when he was a freshman at Arknasas then our fucking ass bag ex-coach pulled him after 1 interception and he has never played again.
