  1. Pussy. That's a show I'd want to see.
  2. Dude wrote a thesis on his own show... unique. I love his own self-loathing on the lamer episodes. A friend of mine came in once while I was watching one of the real first season duds, right as they hit the "contrived third act dance scene". I had to sit him down and make him watch the first paintball episode to save my reputation.
  3. Reminds me of a Turkish ice cream vendor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip6INPAyvHM
  4. Ed, I've got the set of Beethoven Symphonies on DVD-A, Berlin Philharmonic w/Claudio Abbado. Looks like it's still in print but I've had them for years and never listened to them, so if you want them cheap just make an offer.

Just have to post the video from Childish Gambino (Donald Glover from Community). It's a one take performance, masterfully lipsinced, and shot on a 5D. Acoustic live version.
  6. Yeah but Fred always demands you bring the giant bag of sex toys & a collection of blunt surgical instruments through security. Fred's kind of an asshole.
  7. I'm afraid to leave the house. Can we confirm that this is limited to South Florida yet? Maybe if I paypal each of you a dollar it will lift the curse. Actually I think the curse is on Brent's money, and this is all just a big Lost ripoff.

    The Killing

You could give a verdict on which show has a better male cast, just so that all the facts are known.
  9. Just watched the new South Park. Most beautiful goddamn depressing thing they've ever done. Highly recommended for those who can take deep meaningful feces humor. Streaming now: http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s15e07-youre-getting-old
  10. Heh, that's pretty awesome. Ends up with a much larger surface area than a normal barrel, which could be a good thing. Just bought a Costco membership myself, if I see one I'll buy it. I have no problem letting something sit for at least 5 years.
  11. I almost forgot your mom there, for a minute, until you posted that pic.
  12. Cigar City Bolita. Forgot how good this stuff is.
  13. Hah, just checked out the lineup myself. Childish Gambino! That's the black kid from Community, rapping. He's good. Other than that, pure suck.
  14. Shelly, is that your first Pliny (on draught, I know you've had bottles)? I can't be jealous, I've had more than a Floridians share. Me, after a rough and weird day, finished a bottle of Cigar City Guava Grove (nicely aged over a year), and on my second dram of Noah's Mill. The awfulness is behind me. I may feel bad when I have a temper for no reason but take extreme heat, extreme physical labor, and add a dumbass customer who assumes I'm a dumbass truck driver, and I won't feel bad for losing it a tiny bit. Like, walked out the door so I didn't have to hear this dumbass talk anymore, is all. Goddamit and I was happy before I posted.
  15. Just realized that it's over already, as is The Borgias. I stopped watching until I read the book. Reading another lengthy novel beforehand to forget most of what I saw of the show, get a fresh take on it.
  16. Got some more vape supplies in today, including the ingredients for a Hunahpus flavor. Extra Stout (Guinness clone) amped up with a couple drops of strong espresso extract, a drop of spicy pepper extract, and a strong dose of vanilla bourbon (technically a bourbon barrel Hunahpus). Oh and 2 drops of 151 proof Everclear. Yes, it's awesome.
  17. Hah. I'd love to see the bottom line on Glee vs Lie to Me. I don't think any executive at Fox would dare call it tripe. People are stupid, mainly the 13 year old girls that flock to this shit. Such is our world. As for Modern Family (on ABC), it's a sweet but edgy and well written show. Most of the situations (this being a sit-com) are unoriginal but it's well written in that the characters are solid and the family structure is deep and believable. And it was #5 in 18-49 this past season. It's not going anywhere. Unless you were thinking Family Guy... in which case I've got nothing for you.
  18. Yeah I've heard the claims that no nicotine is absorbed but I know it's totally untrue. You can feel nicotine, it burns a bit in the mouth and throat. When I used Snus packs (ground up well cured tobacco packets that to under the upper lip) they burned like hell depending on the strength and a built up tolerance. The point is that this burns, and the burn correlates well with the amount of nicotine in my final vaping solution. I could double blind a 15 mg/ml mix against a 25 mg/ml mix any day. I haven't smoked a cig in 2 weeks but I do get withdrawal symptoms without my vape. I'm fairly suspicious of that study. The FDA has of course started looking into the e-cig business, so far no official stance. I think their main complaint could be the suppliers selling very high concentration nicotine solutions like I bought. I've seen vendors selling up to 100 mg/ml. Overdose (death), can occur in adults from 30-60 mg. A small spill with that strength could absorb through the skin in a very short time. I expect that to become an illegal practice. After that I'm sure they'll figure out how to tax synthetic nicotine.
  19. Vaping (e-cig lingo, replacement for 'smoking'), a really nice custom cigar strength e-liquid. Just to reveal how involved this thing is, here's the recipe for what I'm vaping right now. 4 ml of nicotine/propylene glycol (PG) solution (50mg/ml strength) 4 ml PG, to cut the strength 1 ml Vegetable Glycol, to improve vapor production 1.7 ml "Chocolate Tobacco" flavor from Flavor West, a food grade flavoring supplier that specializes in e-liquid ready flavors (mixed in Propylene Glycol, as many modern food flavorings are.) .3 ml Vanilla Bourbon flavor from a similar supplier. 2 drops "Bitter Wizard", an additive that works at receptor levels on the tongue to cause a bitter sensation on the draw, fades cleanly in 3-4 seconds to reveal the other flavors. 1 drop "Vape Wizard", an additive that also works at receptor levels to mask acidic tastes, as some of the heavier food additives are naturally slightly acidic. 1 drop Sucralose concentrate sweetener The bitter additive makes it brutal to inhale, but I knew that using too much would give me a cigar vape. Nice strong bitterness on the draw, and I'm using a low resistance cartridge so I get a very warm vapor. The sweet aftertaste of the sucralose lasts much longer than the bitterness so it's a nice transition and the soft chocolate/bourbon finish lasts a while. No smell, no (known) carcinogens.
  20. I really shouldn't say that for that briefest moment while I was confused, I thought I had finally found a kindred serial killer soul on Head-case. Jacob doesn't count, his methods are too primitive for my respect.
  21. Heh. My LOTR trilogy is an ancient document from the 70's, having been read many times over by each member of my family. I couldn't imagine reading it any other way now. Maybe I'll hit the whole set again soon and then make sure it gets passed to my sister.
  22. Either way I'm glad to see them removed from the whole deal. I like those guys, and 50 Cent is about the most silly and irrelevant name out there. At least I respect Dre (but not Monster of course).
  23. I've been in your position, no budget so you're listening to budget gear. Trying to convince yourself that you're pulling 99% of the performance of the stuff you really want. Do yourself a favor and stop sidegrading. Get yourself to a level of equipment that you're satisfied with. Look for budget level equipment at $500-$1500, look for deals. Do everything you can to build yourself a reference system you can be happy with and stop tyring to convince us you're happy right now.
  24. Yeah I'm giving up and going in for the real book. This reader just can't keep me interested. However if I ever find myself unable to sleep...
