No chance of damaging the headphones by removing pads unless you smash it with a hammer. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Plastic rivets. Or pcb rivets (not the copper/brass) type.

I can't get over the looks of the new Orpheus package. Like really? Marble enclosure for the amplifier with a built in DAC, an array of tubes on right side and a black shoe box with lid on left side that is a headphone case.....did some 10 year old design this at SennheiserHQ?

Major Forum Software Upgrade - August 5, 2015
I've noticed that quite a number of pages (about 60 or so) have been purged in the Stax thread after the website upgrade. Like I'll google for some posts that shows up Stax thread head-case page 463 but when I click on it, it directs me to page 4 and there is only 406 pages in the Stax thread.

Stax SRM-T2
Who knows, the guys on head-fi who went to the Stax factory 2 years ago asked the current CEO's and they said they have something in the works to be as a T2 successor.

Stax Quattro I and II repair
Because it will permanently damage the laser. Rather a partial working laser with a fault lying elsewhere than a completely dead non replaceable laser. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

Stax Quattro I and II repair
I wouldn't touch the pots for optical laser power and tracking as a last resort if you can't fix it via anything else. A draw sticking problem could be a problem with the limiter/latch switch underneath the draw or an over-greased or under-greased gear/belt that is causing slippage when the draw motor kicks in to open the draw. This problem can also cause tracking issues (random skipping on a track of a cd) if the draw is not closed or opened properly, a miss-alignment in the laser head to read from the tracking of the disc.

Stax SRM-T2
Maybe price and a market was something that held them back. I have no doubt that Stax was and is capable of designing a grand $50k amp if they wanted to. The problem is how many will sell on the market to make it a viable effort for them to do so. Not to mention all the old HV semi-conductors are mostly EOL but there are new stuff which some companies only sell or make at a minimum (10000+ for example) quantity order. It's all supply and demand.

Spritzer what's the cap diameter size you use to use to cover the 6th pin on normal bias outputs after the pro-conversion? (Or better yet, a link to one on ebay if that's where you get yours from). Thanks

Correcting my previous post. The 727 can be extensively modded to a low powered kgss not the 717.
