  1. Thanks. I just looked and the aluminum back panel and a top panel would run 59 euro shipped. Not likely. I wonder how well FPE's anodized panels match up to these?
  2. true dat... was thinking of Ic
  3. I have a test fixture that I use with 2 DMMs and a bench supply now, but it is time consuming (I'm sure you both know all about that ). I just saw that this thing had at least 3 Ib ranges (10uA, 1mA and 10mA) and thought it might do the trick for all but critical matches. Probably something worth having anyhow, particularly given the price. Intended devices would be stuff like 2SA970/SC2240, 2SA1016 and it's complement, etc.
  4. Are these things good enough to measure (and match) small signal devices for hFe? Might need one for my Christmas list...
  5. Nice Tyll! I know many (most?) don't bother with THAT site anymore, but I was laffin my ass off seeing this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/540242/getting-called-out-for-not-wearing-the-beats 181 pages and counting... Also, WTF is "Beats Audio" that some of the craptops, etc. seem to be advertising now?
  6. Yes, I would agree. Mine has the 10mm front panel, but at the time they were not offering aluminum rear panels. I take it yours is aluminum? Nice job at any rate, and thanks for the reply.
  7. They didn't when I bought my Dissipante, but yes, I was aware that they do offer them now. Hence the question.
  8. Is the back panel on that case aluminum, or is that the stock steel panel? I'd like to do something similar on my dynahi, but didn't think that FPE did steel panels.

  19. Just as a follow up. UTsource kept sending me an email reminding me to order these, so I replied back. 21. Happy Birthday Chris! Hope you have a great one!
  22. ^ Heh, good point. If it's already perfect, how is it possible to improve it?
  23. I've never used one, but I think their regenerators are probably pretty good (and effective). It's when they start catering to audiiophile silliness ($800 power cords, fuses, etc.) that they jump the shark. I can't say I blame them cuz it makes the margins look good
  24. ^ Oh, but they still are. And crystals... go read AudioAsylum's Tweaks/DIY forum
  25. ^ Heh, had forgotten about that... the Critical Link fuse. Gotta be worth the upgrade right there, cuz its critical...
