Sorry for the spam here, but if you go the CKIII route, fellow HC'er gtp has this one for sale. I've seen and listened to his work and it is of high quality. I haven't seen or heard this particular amp but I'd bet money that it's up to his usual standards.
Another possibility for you is the Panasonic RP-HTX7. These are very inexpensive (I got a pair for $39 a year ago) and really do nothing wrong. The bass is a bit woolly, but it's a nice closed headphone for the price. I found them to be comfortable enough.
I advise you to never listen to neilvg's electrostatic or Voltron's dynamic setups if you want to keep this feeling intact. I have a pretty nice setup and I'd trade it for either in a heartbeat!
With the RS-1, I immediately noticed the shrill, piercing, hight pitched voice and that was enough. For me, the RS-1 is unlistenable. The HP-1000 is another animal altogether. I first tried an HP1 connected to Frank Cooter's amp. I've been in love ever since.
It probably isn't the same, but Putumayo has a CD out called "Tango Around the World". It has examples of Tango compositions from many different countries. It's fairly well recorded too.
This make sense to me. It would be easy to have separate volume and balance controls. I seem to remember it being done before. This is certainly easier for the user and assuming decent balance and volume controls, there should not be any issues with sound quality either.
Now I'm the guy who formerly worked at (insert company here)! Sooner or later I'll have to start looking for a new job, but not quite yet. I'll probably start just after CanJam. I don't want to possibly screw up my trip there.
hey vicki, that looks great. did you consider custom stamps too? google shows up several possibilities. one of the things HeadFest offered were custom stamps. i can't remember which company did it and am too lazy at the moment to look it up.
APS is the local shortening of "Alameda Padre Serra", the street on which I live. I didn't think of APureSound and assumed you were referring to me. Funny.
Yes, it's part of the disease. At least you guys did a great job of exposing him. Most people are now connecting the dots and there's no helping those that are not smart enough to do it.
You have my sympathy. I think that you will have to have new ownership before things really get fixed. It's a shame what has happened to that franchise in the last 10 years or so.
Do you know someone on APS that has a pair of RS-1s? I don't and have no plans to acquire any. I'm looking for something else though and it's definitely not an SA5000!
It just dawned on me that this might actually be oicdn. He shows the same lack of intelligence and imagination both in playing the game and dealing with issues.
