I do one or the other. I either fill out and mail in the absentee ballot or I take it into the polling place. So I doubt that I'm invalidating my vote. They all scare me. I'd love to see a viable third party. One that's fiscally conservative and socially progressive. You know, kind of the opposite of the current administration. It probably won't happen in my life time.

What?

At the moment, I'm a K340, Singlepower, eXemplar and APL fan. Of course, I can't (or won't) afford the latter. For speakers, I'm a Joseph Audio fan. These all could change at any time. I'm pretty much permanently a tube fan.

Nope. I do absentee voting, so it's only a matter of a little time with a pencil and a stamp. I don't do it for every choice on the ballot, only when all the choices for one office are bozos.
-
Because of the choices, I often write in "Jerry Garcia". He'd still do a better job than most of the jokers running for office.

Technically, Jack Daniels is Tennessee Whiskey. Edit: Jacob beat me to it.

That's right. Steve, how long does it take for the magic solder to burn in??? P.S. I have one of your Hammond cased Pimeta portables. It's a nice little amp. I just used in on the train rides from SB to San Diego and back.
-
Oh come on. Everybody knows that commercial manufacturers have magic solder that makes their equipment sound much better. Of course, only after it has been burned-in!
-
We can do that after everybody leaves. Wait a minute, nobody is leaving. Uh oh!
-
Maybe Todd would give you a loaner to take to MOA? If it's a good deal, he would be smart to do so.

Hi Aaron. I'm not going to jump down your throat. I'm sure that all those components sounded better to you after they matured. I'm sure that a lot of burn in occurred. Let's look closer in the case of a new amplifier. On one hand, you have a pretty simple electrical device that will change slightly over time. There just isn't much there that can change. On the other hand, you have the brain, which is processing the signal from the amplifier via some wire and a transducer. The brain is an extremely complex biochemical device. It is very flexible and adaptable. It shows almost constant change in how it works. So over time, I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of burn in is occuring in the brain and only a minute amount occurs in the equipment. Notice that this doesn't invalidate your belief that the equipment sounded better over time. It's just that your brain was doing most of the changing. My favorite case of brain burn in is the experiment where a person was given given glasses that inverted all images. The subject had to wear the glasses during all waking hours. After several days, suddenly the images that the subject saw were right side up again. The brain had burned in a bit, eh? Then the glasses were taken away. Again images were inverted to the subject. Again after several days, the brain righted the images. I have to believe that similar experiments would show the brain doing interesting processing on aural input. -ken Life was unlistenable out of the box!

Wadia's digital iTransport (digital out from the iPod)

Hey JP, I sure hope that this wasn't a freudian slip! -
Mike, if I drive I'll bring both my eXemplar Denon 2900 and a SACDMods Eastsound E5. If I fly, people will have to be happy with my iPod and AE-2. Of course, it's no longer a $1400 eXemplar. I had John Tucker put in the latest mods and now it's an $1850 eXemplar.
-
You mean ask Ray?
-
Ah, but does it beat a $1400 eXemplar Denon 2900???
-
It's not near a big enough deal to be deleted, even if someone would do it here.

I thought that your first response was appropriate. He then backed off a lot on his response. You escalated after that with the crying baby image. That was a bit much, don't you think?
-
Be nice. Mike probably just had a bad day in court.

Great name Vicki. Pets always seem to name themselves. You might want to check if your vet has recently changed hands. If so, you may want to search for a new vet. Also, there is no reason for shots anymore. Our vet uses nose drops for all vaccinations. They are a little more expensive than shots, but it's easier on the animal and doesn't have the cancer risk that shots have. So you also may want to find a vet (they may do it on request) that does nosedrops instead of shots.

This isn't a good analogy. I understand that Jude's "employees" can't or at least shouldn't be doing it. A better one analogy would be if one of your customers told another customer that he also liked the bar down the street and that he should check it out. Would you then tell him to shut up or throw him out for that? I think Tyll's approach is better. He's not trying to grow or protect his piece of the pie. He's trying to grow the pie so that he gets a bigger piece. Others do too. Almost everybody here also is a member at Head-Fi. What "business" would he lose by allowing references to this forum. None that I can see. It appears to be much more of a personal thing. Personal things have no place in business. Edit: I see that Chekhonte and I saw the error in your analogy at the same time.

Easy. You've been admiring his work on the M3 rebuild in the DIY forum. I'm not sure I could say "no". But I can't speak for Nate.
-
You know, if you can give a good sob story to Nate, he'll rebuild it for you. If your story is really good, he might even recase it.
-
Sometimes on HF you'll see references to "the site that must not be named". That site is HC. If you try to put "head-case" in a message, the checker won't let you do it. If somehow you are able to reference HC, that message quickly gets deleted. Jude has insisted that this site not be mentioned and that nobody publicize HC using HF resources. I don't understand why (even knowing the history), but HF is his site and he can run it anyway he wants.

Happy Birthday guys!
