A lot of things can be said about Beyer DT 770 and airy is not among the first words I would use. But I have used them for work for about 2 years now and I find them good for that kind of service. They are build like a tank, have great isolation and I find them rather comfortable. I got the '03 PRO 80 ohm version, and they can easily be driven by a laptop. In fact a friend of mine used his 250 ohm with an IPod Nano (but not very loud )

The sound from my Dell laptop :mikey2: is certainly not good. How it will compare to a Predator, I don't have an opinion about. But the Pico is fantastic.

And then watch the ruin of everything but the cables?

It beats the shit out of the soundcard in my Dell laptop at work I have not compared it directly to my Stello DA 100/ Corda Aria at home yet, and my aural memory is comparable to a goldfish, so I won't rate them against each other. But I can say that the pico need not to be ashamed of itself. I listened with DT880 (250) and Stax 2050, and I like the pico very much. And if one takes the size into the equation it is just unbelievable. Even if I knew it was *small*, I was surprised by how small it was. The small volume knob is rather large compared to the rest.

A mini mac also looks nice in the living room, that's honestly why I made up a reason to buy one. (I had to buy a LCD TV as well to use as a monitor, but the old tv was crap so I guess it dosn't really count)

x2 Would like to see a more or less serious computing device with 10 hours + battery life while in use, WLAN included.

I found the ESI MAYA 44 USB at 33% off normal price here in Norway and I do need a ADC of good quality with my mini mac, does anyone have any expericence with it (http://www.esi-audio.com/products/maya44usb/)? I don't care much about the DAC, as I have a Pico comming and a Stello DA100 next to me. I know that I really want the new Apogee, but I spent a little too much lately, and the Maya is quite a lot cheaper...

Einstuerzende Neubauten, at least some of the later stuff like "Perpetuum Mobile" is similar to some of Sigurd Ros. The early stuff is, eeh well somewhat noisy.

Digital out can be switched off. There also is a digital volume control which can be set to "fixed". On the analog side I qute from the player configuration: "This is a secondary volume control which applies only to the analog outputs on Squeezebox. Enter the amount of attenuation in decibels. Range is 0.0 to 63.0 in 0.5 db steps. The default is 0 (for full volume)."

I never understood the thing about Nirvana. People I (used to) trust made me buy Nevermind and I have tried to listen to it (several times) but I just don't get it.
