  1. You cannot really tell from that setup. You need to measure them at their rated voltages and a more realistic base current.
  2. I really like that wine, it's one of the regulars I pick up at the store.
  3. [raises hand] I'll be there Sunday!
  4. So Al, are Carpano and Cocchi similar and Bonal and Punt e Mas similar?
  5. Well, the Torino is very good. I'm on my fourth, killed the Ritt. I'd say a value compared to Carpano... Perhaps between Punt e Mas and Carpano in taste. 3 oz Ritt 1.5 oz Cocchi Torino Orange bitters Yum!
  6. Manhattan with Cocchi Torino and Rittenhouse 100.
  7. I like equal parts It's very yummy stuff.
  8. Yeah, I went through a few. I was tired of the 2.5K record length of the entry Tek scopes and realized I needed to jump to 300Mhz. Here a shot of today's testing
  9. I dunno, I don't think this is a top flight source myself. I haven't really been impressed the times I've spent with it. But, give it a spin and report back!
  10. Inverted Manhattan 1.5 oz Cocchi Torino 0.75 oz Handy rye 1 dash cherry bitters Stir and garnish with FOTM cherries!
  11. That's one item that at least I can buy here in Austin, and in fact I have a Pet Smart right up the road! I decided on an inverted Manhattan, to show off the vermouth.
  12. I bought some new probes. The 500 Mhz probes work great. Haven't gotten the P5200 up and running yet though.
  13. Trying to decide in fact... Got a few new things to play with...
  14. Mix a little Fernet with some of that Cola
  15. There are cocktails recipes that specifically recommend it, such as from the Dr. himself.
  16. I like the Ritt. Overholt was chosen as we just to stick it in the freezer and then take shots in college. It's not great. I'm not sure of you can still get Jim Beam Rye, but it's probably between these two in price and quality.
  17. I bought the cheapest $20 Ikea mount for my G25. Heh. It's actually a decent design in fact. But I didn't do anything fancy.
  18. It doesn't really make the rye better, cocktails are a transformation which transcends the sum of the parts.
  19. It's actually amazing the number of companies that make these. For example, Accuphase, Bryston, Krell, Pass (old and new, i.e the PCXe and the XVR1), Luxman, and last but CERTAINLY not least, the ACS-1 from our buddy John Curl. I've owned the Marchand products and I think they're decent. There's also the concept of a PLLXO (passive line level crossover), which you might consider researching a bit and Marchand sells as well.
  20. Nice! If Spec's in Houston doesn't carry the SHF stuff, I'm planning on grabbing some in your neck of the woods. There's a nice article on the proprietress in this month's Imbibe, as well as a few pages on the bourgeoning Austin cocktail scene
  21. Thanks! The interesting thing is, there really aren't a huge amount of ingredients here. I think I have two wine cases packed up, and even that contains a good number of duplicate spirits...
  22. Well, the party is Saturday, here's what I came up with. PGE Cocktail Menu.pdf
  23. I think the second option would be better. I'm assuming you are biamping the speakers?
  24. You might look here: http://www.marchandelec.com/
  25. 20th Century Cocktail Gin courtesy of a fellow Head-Caser! Cheers!
