  1. Good to know that I will have full moral support and backup when trying to explain why that nice demo car had to have some uptime
  2. Indeed Coincidentally, I walked by a 450+ BHP Volvo S60 Polestar this morning when going to a meeting at work; I briefly considered "borrowing" it and just make a run for the border with gwrskien's boards.
  3. All european destined boards have now been shipped onward from the swedish hub. PMs with shipping costs will follow tonight.
  4. No worries, take the time you need!
  5. Nothing to add, looked alright in the gerber viewer...
  6. No need to wait I think, the board is done: http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/boards/baseboardbal4a.zip A place to insert attenuator of choice and then space for two smd buffers. That was the wish list, right?
  7. From Kevins comments, the reworked one would be a fair bit bigger and this is already quite big, so I'd prefer the smaller, current, version.
  8. Stuff arrived
  9. As am I! A really great piece of work!
  10. As far as I can tell; yes. Not an expert on how to set up the MAX4820 though.
  11. Smaller board fits my needs better, but I would of course be fine with a bigger, more feature rich, version.
  12. So, I would start with reflowing all solder joints and also double check that your R8 actually is 860R. Pic of the board would help trouble shooting.
  13. I'm in too.
  14. It's been discussed before, and the outlook is not so good...
  15. On that theme, I got this very interesting link from @mdr30 http://www.monoandstereo.com/2016/11/direct-to-disc-brahms-cycle-sir-simon.html?m=1 I guess in purist terms; one processing step only, no mastering involved... https://youtu.be/qBf3OBMjRAg
  16. Second that. Out of curiosity after Bob's Big Sound amp reviews, I built the M3 a while ago. Regardless of tweaking (bias and supply voltage levels, opamp choice), I can't describe it as neutral; to me it's a warm sounding amp. If the M3 was neutral to me, I can see how the dip which was a killer for Tyll would be noticable but ok to live with. However, I spent an hour with the LCD-4s last week, and in short; I'd buy something on Tyll's recommendation but not Bobs. Two great reviewers, but I hear it more like Tyll.
  17. I don't have one in mine, and it does fine so far...
  18. I can sort that if not already arranged.
  19. I was just wondering whether you just got lucky and escaped the system Payment sent.
  20. Congrats! Enjoy
  21. For all intents and purposes, that's exactly what just happened.
  22. Or a diamond buffer or two ... (or are they better off separated?)
  23. +1. The effort is highly appreciated! I'd be in for the SMD ubal->bal board and a pile of diamond buffers..
