  1. the 1/4" outputs are in parallel and connected to the + phase
  2. they just came out with unisex neutriks. from now on they shall be called the tranny neutriks . Neutrik - Updates <waits for first nate cable>
  3. If all you were doing is guessing if the tube is cryo or non-cryo, 6 to 8 trial isn't nearly enough. What if every trial was actually the same tube? How would you have done then?
  4. If there were a UE10.5, Id go with that. I don't know which one I liked better. It's hard to know because the universals dont fit my ears with any of the tips and have to be held in place. I don't think I can know without trying custom fits of both
  5. gpalmer has/had the original gilmore reference this was a custom pre-amp version for emelius with 24-step gain switches. the contents of the 2 box reference are the same
  6. No, I did a Mac OS X spotlight search for "gilmore reference black gates spain" and this is the only one. What kind of technical data? It is a balanced version of this amplifier HeadWize - Project: A Pure Class A Dynamic Headphone Amplifier by Kevin Gilmore with 1 of the power supplies for each channel. GoldPoint stepped attenuators and 2200uf FK? black gate capacitors, vampire silver wiring in the signal path
  7. The standard Gilmore Reference was a 1 box amp that looked like the KGSS It was $2559 and made in Spring 2005
  8. Not always, I know KG's designs could not be made into op-amps

    RS1's?

  10. If I am interpreting this correctly then the GS-X is an 8 channel amp, so is balanced b22 and dynamite
  11. Ban
  12. They are tubed, right? Then there are probably coupling capacitors that won't pass subsonic frequencies
  13. YouTube video clips that are made by pointing a camera at a TV The penalty for posting these should be castration
  14. the poor handwriting
  15. This is probably the time to order UE10/11 if you're the least bit interested...
  16. the bias board was only designed for 1 jack, so there is a 4.7M resistor soldered onto the board. Additional resistors can be added for each jack. I guess the previous owner decided to replace them with Caddocks
  17. I just compared UE10 and UE11 universal fit models
  18. no idea, i use 3kV rated metal films there
  19. It looks like that amp was modified. I don't use those gray resistors. The capacitor lead should be plugged into ground on the terminal block, it reduces noise
  20. I hope it's still fresh
  21. Nate will solve this. He will cut the DA-500 in half
  22. WTF? I hope this guy has two because I just paid for it..
  23. These pictures aren't being posted by anyone with an agenda to benefit the competition...so it's very different.
  24. The datasheet only says the matched pair will have a differential Vbe of 0-10mV, at a test condition of Vce=6V and Ic=2mA. You can probably do better than this if you get enough 2sa970/2sc2240 to match and bond them together
