Yep. For instance, my modded old MS-1 sounded like shit when I first modded them, now, a day later of simply wearing them while doing other things, I love the sound. I just got used to the new signature. No burn-in, just familiarity.
People can believe whatever they want, I just get tired of having that crap plus cables thrown into every headphone discussion and instantly derailing the whole thing. I wish they'd stick to the headphones as they are.
fivehundredthousandbazillion dollars more than I have.
Probably $1500-2000 or so I'd guess. Except for those oddities that go ridiculously cheap every now and then.
Thanks for the reply, looking now.
Would I be able to use the same switch type as both input selector and speaker selector or would the speaker one need to be a more beefy affair on something with up to 20 wpc or so?
Just as soon as they hit $500 a pair I'm on it.
Oddly, Duke Ellington sounds pretty normal with them, Stina Nordensens 'welcome to happiness' is earthshaking....
Good, progress
Anyways, back on some sorta topic, my supa mega MS-1 mod has turned them into the worlds biggest bass monster. I didn't know how much bass these fuckers could actually produce in the right (wrong) situation. Fully sealed with sealing earpads and the bass is ridiculous! I have a few tracks where they pound my ears so hard it's amazing. The whole earphone shakes, quite hypnotic. I've never experienced headphone bass like it.
I think I like it
