Grado RS1 + Flats and other impressions
Grado Bowls Vs Flats again? Oh how adventurous.... Even though I have never heard either of those cans I know for a fact my MS-1 would own them both 'cos I has l337 modding skillz and can invent awesomeness like this with my patented blutac mounting material and headband bending mojo. Stare in wonderment at the MS-Megatastic!

Speakers & power amp recommendations for $1600-$2K?
I like those old big-ass Tannoys of old with the one 15"dc like the Tannoy Westminster Royal. Honkingly huge monsters but effortlessly dynamic with massive presence (in every way). I've loved them since I first heard them. Way too big to fit in most rooms.

Rotary switches.
DIY Gods, I'm trying to find out if there are any good but not excessively expensive 3-way rotary speaker output selector switches available that any of you DIYers may know about. I'll also want a regular 3-way rotary input selector switch but have no idea which are decent and which are crap. My plan is to eventually integrate a Stax transformer, headphone transformer and regular speaker outs in an amp and want to have a nice big selector knob for them. That way I can have one integrated amp that can run anything I'm ever likely to own and have ample power to drive any and all difficult loads. Any recommendations?

So who's heard Orthodynamics, and what was your reaction to them?
No problem with longevity, more a problem with spares, pads, breakages etc. Break anything and you either need another set to cannibalize or fabricate your own parts. I wouldn't consider that any kind of deterrent though If I could find the ones I want.

Ok, convince me to get a PS3
What more reason would one need to justify any new toy purchase

I like orthos though haven't had/heard any in a long time. Good ones are getting rarer and they're all old as the hills.

Eee PC
That is a cool little toy. I can't justify another pc though, already have 2 desktops a laptop and an ultra micro. I love mini pc's.

My turnaround was pretty quick, I've had a few things made by them. I have another couple of things on the burner still to go.

The Headcase Stax thread
So you're trying to tell us your home made crap sounds better than expensive wires made by professionals with their own company and billions in R&D and a marketing department? Yeah right! Next you're going to try to persuade us DIY or public domain design amps can sound better than real ones

On HD650s and speaker amps...
I've been using speaker amps for my phones for years. I bought one of these ASL UHC Signatures just for that purpose. Impedance matching transformer.

Post the last thing you bought!
I have no idea what it is but you should kill it before it develops language skills.

pico as source for stereo?
Get yourself on the H-F order thread then go into hibernation for a few weeks. Once you wake up, spring will be in full bloom, the birds will be singing in blue skies and you'll have a new toy to frolic in the fields with. Ah, life just doesn't get any better than that *sigh* lalalalalalalalalalaal

pico as source for stereo?
Welcome to HC baijxz (doesn't that name just roll off the tongue) I don't see why not, I'm going to be doing the same thing when I finally get one. Nice and small doing double duty as a home/porty dac/amp. A number of people are already using it that way, including the man himself, Justin.
