I've been looking for one on eBay that strikes the right balanced between price and condition... so far no luck. There are some websites where you can get a near mint or NOS unit (2100, the last PDA style Newton built) with all the trimmings, but they are absurdly expensive. So off to eBay and craigslist to find a deal. There are programs out there that will allow you to sync it with OS X 10.5 too.

LOL, nice. people still have those up and working. There's a small cult following for the Newton... you can still get refurbed and near mint units too. Crazy.

Shure also makes something like that as well.

Well, if you can wait long enough, there may be new Mac Mini's announced during the January MacWorld Expo... that's just speculation though. Some think they will be EOL'd as well. There may be a slight price drop as well. Check craigslist, you never know

That looks gorgeous!

I have an account, but after a week or so, I find it more useful to track others, whose websites and podcasts I follow. I seriously doubt, anyone is watching my feed for any reason.

No, she didn't open.... two other bands opened, Vermillion Lies and The Builders and the Butchers. Both were good enough for me to buy their CDs at the merch table. It's the fist time I've ever purchased an opening act's CD at the show...they were fun acts. Amanda's music is similar to her work with the Dolls, but heavier on piano, obviously.

Last night my wife and I went to the Amanda Palmer concert in Raleigh. Great show. As Ian might say, "I Amanda Palmer."

Well, clippers to get the bulk of the hair off and then off to the shower with a Gillette Mach 3. Eventually I'll move to a safety blade style razor, but apparently I should cut the hell out of my face with that first and then move to my head. i've shaved my head before and once I get a few weeks in, I'll just have to drag a razor over it a couple times a week to keep that nice close Mr. Clean look. I've got a pretty round smooth noggin so it's fairly easy once I get going.

So far, not so good. They are not comfortable at all. The clip part digs into the tops of my ears. Sound-wise they are about as good as I expected them to be. Shy in the bass and some awkwardness in tonality in the mids. Overall they lean to the treble just a bit with smooth mids. If it weren't for the comfort issue I'd keep them. I'll fiddle a bit to see if I can make it work, but frankly there are cheaper options. I knew these were a bit of a chance (what with being a glasses wearer and all) but I was hoping for the best.

[righteous indignation] It is not a techno jacket, it's a TEC jacket incorporating PAN™ technology (that's Personal Area Network). Thank you very much. [\righteous indignation]

Problems with attaching iPod
thrice replied to Dusty Chalk's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
one year limited for iPods, yes. However getting Applecare for any Apple product is a good idea. In the case of iPods it means free battery replacements under warranty and free service under warranty for two years instead of one. If you're still in the one year then you should be fine though. http://images.apple.com/legal/warranty/docs/ipodisight.pdf -

If it keeps happening restore the iPod (full wipe, erases everything and reinstalls iPod software) and reload songs on it again. If it still happens then pop over to an Apple store and have them look at it....did you get Applecare for it? -
Why does your modem have a wireless router in it? Is that what you use to generate your wireless network? Typically they only give you that if you've got "home networking" via your ISP...which they typically charge extra to do. You could just downgrade your service and swap out the wifi/modem combo for a modem only and run that to your TC and use the TC as your wireless router. Of course there may be a TOS that you violate that way, but.....

Geek.... but that's cool. The Macallan 18 makes feel OK about that No. Been looking for a new jacket and this seemed to fit the bill. We'll see how it goes. I'm cautiously optimistic about it.

When I have a house with a yard big enough, I too will help my children build a small trebuchet with which to launch various items. Teaches physics..... and how to build, calibrate and fire medieval war machines. Pretty efficient.
