  1. (Keanu Reeves voice) Whoa! Your bizarre visuals are FREAKING ME OUT, MAN! Unrelated: It's like slow trap.
  2. That show got a pretty miserable review from The Guardian. "Maybe Kondo should have laid out every scene in an editing suite and, after the necessary thank yous, carefully considered which ones sparked joy. The bulk of them would have gone in the bin." I hope there's more to it than that. None of my underwear spark joy, but neither am I binning them -- I need my underwear! And none of my work clothes spark joy, they're just necessary. And my most beautiful guitars spark joy in me, but most of them have to go. I've actually heard of Swedish death cleaning. I think I saw Alexander Skarsgård talking about it in an interview. If the Kondo thing doesn't work, I will seriously read up on it. My father died only two years older than I am now, and he was in better shape than I am, and now I think I might have a neurological issue (I have an appointment at the end of January)...so I guess what I'm saying is, I'm in the right frame of mind. Part of the cleaning is so that I don't dump it on my sisters if I die. I found some non-rye whisk(e)y I don't remember buying.
  3. I really should get my ARP 2600 refurbished...
  4. Yeezh.
  5. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up
  6. Not sure if this reminds me of a meme, or just a dancer coming in sideways, but damn, that’s some confidence. Speaking of dancing, here’s some “sky dancing”.
  7. No, but I dreamt of unicorns, so who knows if these memories are real?
  8. Cleaned my apartment. Found all sorts of shit. a Metro card with about $30 on it (and a picture of some great cats of some variety or another, the real reason I missed it) my Rotring my prescription sunglasses a shoe — just the one, don’t know where its mate is a notice that my car is paid off...since July or August or so a tin full of picks a library card A bunch of tins of mints a flattened, sealed bag of chips a couple different earplugs A strat body enough Allegra-D to start my own meth lab A special case (Xmas) of Maestro Dobel Diamante (that’s tequila, right?) an almost smooshed carton of almond milk ... Anyway, you get the idea.
  9. Happy birthday, Dan! (party favour noise)
  10. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  11. Wasn't in the mood, needed something slightly more 'me' and energetci, so went back to my Notwist/13&God playlist (every time I hear 13&God, I think of the time I was on tt.fm with two of the guys from Themselves, which is the other half of 13 & God).
  12. No, I’m good, but thanks for the very generous offer and more importantly the very useful information. You’re right, I’m not familiar with Apples / Macs, but I am familiar with Google, and...it’s kind of bizarre—I found a couple different ways to adjust the sound level, but none of them worked. There must be something weird about the driver for the HRT device that prevents it. I ended up buying the software—it was more expensive than a latte, but not much. It works fine. There is an occasional jump in volume, but that’s relatively minor. It otherwise does exactly what I want—including cool things like play my music at one volume, but videos almost mute.
  13. Lady Gaga I was in El Rico Pollo and I was enjoying what was playing, so my friend Googled it ("OK Google, what is playing right now?"). Don't know which album, so far the two I've listened to are fairly generic, yet perfectly pleasant. The one I heard was more Garbage-y. Going to stop and listen to Traeben to clear my palette...er...palate. Those are homonyms, aren't they?
  14. Watching/listening to this yet again, because I'm in a Calexico kind of mood:
  15. Listening/watching Calexico play with an orchestra -- here is the whole playlist -- the preview shows the first song, but I'm currently on "Fortune Teller" which is jaw-droopingly beautiful:
  16. I don’t know why I thought Royksopp was Avalanches. Oh, and: it took Shazam 4 tries before it could correctly identify this track: Previous attempts include: Days After Days (Syzthaime 2 Dayz Remix) - David R. For You (Original Mix) - Roald Velden Spherical Being - Sidwave
  17. Pink and purr pull...
  18. Happy! Best show ever So fucked up Violence and gore and drugs and sex and an animated children’s show character imaginary friend (voiced by Patton Oswalt) and some brilliant writing EDIT: oooooooh, it's based on a Grant Morrison graphic novel, now everything makes sense.
  19. Because people who join for the express purpose of copying and pasting a post from another site are trouble, in our experience.
  20. I don’t think any of us are familiar with those. Etymotics are the go-to brand in that price range (assuming they even have anything in that price range). But you should upgrade: JH13.
  21. He’s one of my heroes, so I don’t have a favourite. Incantations is probably one of my most frequently revisited. Also Killing Fields , Five Miles Out, and QE2.
