  1. (not sure what Taylor Swift has to do with the show, but I enjoy watching her, and I got kind of carried away for the last hour)
  2. Vulnicura is her weirdest album yet. And that's saying something.
  3. Venetian Snares does analog!
  4. Yeah, we need about 5 more to make up for breeders like Grawk.
  5. Yeah, understood, Larry, but it could always be worse. I have a friend who was paralyzed from a motorcycle accident since he was around 20, was told he would never walk again, recovered enough to walk again (took decades), and then had a Segway accident and is now paralyzed again (he's around 50 now). I'm not trying to say which is worse, I'm just saying cherish her ability to walk at all.

  7. Yeah, it's just an EP, so listen to it, decide if it's worth bothering (the above YouTube appears to be the actual vinyl -- I only just learned that about the performances being different, but I grew up on that EP -- that's what got me into later Roxy Music -- so it holds a special place in my heart, and explains why I didn't feel I'd heard those particular performances recently) -- I doubt it, a lot of fondness comes from familiarity, IMHO. I think the other available performances are perfectly good, too, and have grown to like them (just like the difference in sequencing on The Name of this Band is Talking Heads -- I am now quite fond of the CD release).
  8. I get logged out of head-case every time I log in using my phone -- I think head-case' (head-case's?) underlying software doesn't like you being logged in from more than two locations.
  9. Love that album -- have you heard The High Road EP?
  10. Apparently Snakefarm have a 2011 album! Just finished listening to it -- insta-purchase.
  11. Good to see she is recuperating, and very generous gift.

  14. Listening now

  17. Yup, even more important than electric guitars to try before you buy (or "...before the return period concludes" [guitar center]), since the luthiering of acoustic guitars is an even more exacting/mysterious business than electric guitars. Knowing PRS, they're probably fine, but I just won't recommend from a place of complete ignorance. I have a Parker and a Godin Multiac (semi-acoustic/acoustic-electric/whatever you want to call it...and it's a 7-string, yes) -- I definitely favor the Godin, but probably not a good first guitar. They do appear to have some entry level acoustics. Taylors and Martins are the go-to brands. I'd also try Yamaha, they're solid.
