  1. Wubworld -- drone, sometimes just a touch of groove, like just enough to keep lean meat from burning on a skillet, but leave the flavour, but mostly ambient.
  2. Laika (mid-90s to mid-oughts trip-hoppy-ish, primarily about the groove, don't hear a lot of chord progressions, kind of thang) discography on Tidal: Silver Apples of the Moon, Sounds of the Satellites, Good Looking Blues, Lost in Space, Wherever I Am I Am What is Missing. They had this one novelty song called "Badtimes" about the badtimes virus and everything it would do, but I kind of overplayed that song back then, so I'll probably skip it this time.

  6. I thought it was great, thought I already said that, but looking back, I may have muddled it. Well worth watching once at least, methinks. I think I find the whole concept of love triangles uncomfortable, especially when they play one of the characters as "deserving" of better. I realize this is a completely unrealistic aversion to have, so just suggesting to take my above criticism with a larger grain of salt than usual.
  7. Yeah...watchable by others, maybe. I have to admit, I loved the whole cold war aspect of it, and would have been happy with that if it just had gone totally bleak like the whole Arnold/mother/sister subplot aspect, or the constant references as to who would or wouldn't need to commit Seppuku. Or the fact that ever single actor took the 1.93 seconds it took to pronounce ' Obergruppenführer ' correctly every single fucking time.
  8. Homeland -- this is such a great fucking show. Finished Man in the High Castle and caught up on Game of Thrones -- both are outstanding. I particularly like the character of Juliana Crane -- she's so submissive, presents such a meek front, and yet such a deeply complex character. Kind of hate the soap opera/love triangle aspect of it, though. I doubt that will go away with season two, though.
  9. Tire Rack will ship them directly to the installer. But if you order four, make sure you get all four installed. I didn't, and had to come back for the other two weeks later.
  10. RIP Meadowlark Lemon and Lemmy Kilmister -- one of my earliest memories is -- after my dad took me to a Harlem Globetrotters game -- my dad trying to figure out if I understood it was all staged, that the opposing team was just destined to lose every game. My dad actually tried to tell this story years later, and I realized the question this time -- of course it was all done for entertainment, but they really were that talented!

  13. So..."neat", then? Lollers, I slay me. PS Grahame doesn't marinate his bacon in Diet Coke until after he ingests it, neither.
  14. Happy Chinese take out day! ...to which my sister replied, "You romantic, you." ...which is pretty funny. Wish I'd thought of it. I'll see if I can find any pretty Chinese girls to take out later.
  15. Happy birthday, Ric! (party favour noise)
  16. Shining hotel done in Gingerbread form
  17. Happy holidays and jolly time off, everyone.
  18. I remember: Burial Now playing (whatever I can find on Tidal)
  19. https://green-carnation.bandcamp.com/album/light-of-day-day-of-darkness still the better album I need some (unrelated) help -- what is the name of that dub/electronica side project that has a dark name, something like Funereal. Side project of someone famous? One word. It's on the tip of my tongue, but I'm drawing a mental block.
