  1. You all don't use rechargeable batteries in your wireless keyboards and mice? I do. Logitech M570 lasts _forever_ on a single charge. I still hate that it doesn't come in a wired version. In fact, I just wrote to them about it last week (again), after opening up two of my Trackman Wheels, cleaning them out, getting the left and right click buttons working again, but not the scroll wheel (...entirely -- one only goes up, the other only goes down).
  2. Birds and Buildings, Multipurpose Trap -- because awesome (retro prog)
  3. You didn't do any of Sakura Matsuri? My friend Dave with whom I used to go every year had "yellow fever", so all his pics are of cute cosplay girls and idol types.
  4. I see them as "circles" -- there are amps that were only the beginnings of ideas; amps that only he knows; amps that he's shared with his inner circle; amps that have only reached the Island of Dr. Moreau; and amps that are completely rampant.
  5. Thanks, now I have The Who playing in my head, and I don't even like that song. (shudders) What? That looks exactly like the Pelican case I use for my VTGs. Except without the company branding.
  6. Coachella Looking forward to Afghan Whigs in a couple minutes, Goat was pretty cool and trippy Haim is on channel one, though
  7. I did not realize this. That's just stupid -- I explicitly do not want to charge my iPod when listening, I like to run my iPod down then charge it back up again. They should at least make it switchable.
  8. That is simply beautiful to wah...er...look at.
  9. Dammit, I'm not an existing double- or triple-play customer. I may contact them and tell them that if they upgrade me, I promise I won't switch to Fios when it gets added to my neighborhood (which I was recently informed is going to happen).
  10. Creatures of the night, natural pest control, what's not to love? Alright, they're not black...
  11. Someone mentioned New Beat on Facebook, so now I'm listening to these:
  12. The new Afghan Whigs on NPR First Listen (will have to finish The Both later)
  13. Didn't even realize the Michael Hutchence connection. Yah, poor Bob!
  14. The Both (Aimee Mann and Ted Leo) on NPR First Listen
  15. Pfff...I didn't even know Monoprice made microphones.
  16. Happy belated! (party favour noise)
  17. Finally finished Dexter. Fucking awesome, I don't know why anyone would be disappointed in that. And also -- is that not the longest running show with the exact same title sequence for 8 years?
  18. This has actually been going on for decades. J. Geils Band's Freeze Frame actually looks pretty blinding on a spectrum analyzer. Not only is it compressed all to shit, it's compressed all to shit in all the frequency bands. It actually sounds pretty good, because the compression was done in the analog realm, and wasn't completely brick-walled, but it's still really high up. It can be done well, trust your ears. There is a certain amount of vetting that can be done by looking at the wave form (true square wave decapitations), but ultimately trust your ears.
  19. I made it the whole way. She's doing some weird skippy beat shit, so I'll probably revisit it when I have a chance. It's funny, I crave more skippy beat shit in pop music, and now here's an example, and it's fairly...meh.
  20. New tune-yards May 6
  21. Apparently, the covers of Gramophone are designed by diarrhoeic unicorns:
  22. I never get tired of stuff like this:
