  1. Marooned is awesome, it didn't win the Grammy for nothing.
  2. Allagash Four -- out. Fucking. Stan. Fucking. Ding. (3 syllables) Sent from mah Droid
  3. They regulate fire ants in Nova Scotia?
  4. You sure you want to compost indoors? Kidding... Me -- ate good food, drank good drink, and watched good movies -- pretty much an all-around win of a day. And with Justin. It was nice. Justin -- it's too bad you didn't join us for 901 -- everything there was outstanding all over again. Just cannot recommend it enough.
  5. Also had the oatmeal stout at 901 (Capital City BrewCo) -- yummy.
  6. Stillwater Existent -- very good Also tried the DC Brau Citizen -- outstanding, not hoppy at all Sent from mah Droid
  7. This might be my favorite video ever. Amusing concept, executed self-deprecatingly humorously.
  8. (gets all dreamy-eyed)
  9. Still my favorite album by them -- good call.
  10. By 'indigenous', I meant, 'made locally from local crops'. If that was the incorrect use of the word, I apologize. And yes, I realize not all rums you find in Hawaii will be made locally, so I stand corrected on that use of the term as well.
  11. I've had the TNT before -- it's bizarre, and worth trying. Not just complex, but outright confusing. Like being attacked by a trio of taste ninjas. Or a quartet. Possibly a pentet. Not sure (has anyone ever counted the number of ninjas they're being attacked by?). EDIT: Or, you know, dispatched them, or been dispatched by them.
  12. Last night -- alternated between the two La Posta malbecs -- as Jacob predicted, both are excellent. The Angel Paulucci is on the jammier, sweeter, fruitier side -- but still well within my tolerance -- and the Pizzella Family is on the earthier and sometimes spicier side, so of course I prefer the latter.
  13. Mai Tais are the drink of choice there, and rum is the indigenous liquor, so you should be fine. Oh, you mean, should you smuggle some out...no, you should drink it all there.
  14. Sushi chefs fighting over largest bluefin tuna in South Korea -- dudes, quit fighting, there's plenty for everyone.
  15. Wine: La Posta malbecs (both varieties), one or two others Beer: Left Hand TNT -- such a bizarre taste explosion in your mouth, had to. Also, Heavy Seas Plank.
  16. Had lunch with Dan -- that was nice. Forgot to mention to Dan, so I'll say it publicy -- finally tried the alt beer you gave me -- it was awesome! I actually think I liked it better than the Gordon Biersch one. And yes, it was still fizzy. As a matter of fact, I only got one glass out of it -- all the sediment had settled on the bottom, but as soon as I opened it, it started fizzing again. Kind of wish I had a second glass, I think I could have gotten more, but the fizzing stirred up the murk, so it ended up being undrinkable. Alas. The one glass was outstanding, though. Remind me to bring you your bottle back next time, I had it with me, forgot to give it to you. Please do feel free to get back into home brewing, I would endorse.
  17. Leaves' Eyes, Meredead -- wow, either I haven't been paying attention, or this is a real departure for them. Really strong Celtic feel, with a full on cover of Mike Oldfield's "To France": ...as well as other folkish instruments and influences. I'm kind of really liking it. Despite having doffed quite a bit of their goth leanings. Ya-rly, I know, right?
  18. Jacob's Getting Serious [/not rick astley]
  19. (finds another 'cheesus', eats it) Obviously those people don't eat Cheetos all that often -- 'cheesus' is a frequent occurence.
  20. Yeah, it's weird, I found myself spending money on watches that I wouldn't spend on anything else -- including headphones, music, speakers, etc. The only way I could quit was cold turkey.
  21. No idea about the reliability, but V-Moda Crossfades sounded pretty good. Also, why would you want a new Zagg? Didn't it not work? You should just send it back, period.
  22. (squints) No, seriously, I don't understand -- why would an accurate square wave be bad? I understand the Gibbs phenomenon as a result of Fourier analysis, but not as to reconstruction and/or construction. I.E. When it comes to DACses.
  23. Nice -- I'm curious how much instrumentals she does (not sure how to ask the question -- what percent?).
  24. This. I'll start now: Jacob will get lucky some time in the next month.
  25. Dude, you owe me, I haven't given you your horoscope in...like...forever.
