By 'radiation', I presume you mean RF radiation? Because I don't see anything in there that merits nuclear radiation symbols, nor do I think the screening would help in that case. Are you going to the point of microwaves and photo-electric effect? Because if so, I want pitchers. You'll have to figure out a way to do that too without destroying the camera. Yes, I said that while resisting the temptation to include the words "arcy" and "sparky" in there.

Katie Melua, The House "The One I Love is Gone" is particularly good.

OMG, he's the greatest. I have a new hero. The Pez candy dispenser analogy was ...just sublime.

Do you know all the bureaucratic bullshit that leads up to something like that being passed? Hell, there was probably a committee. And a rough draft (of the proposal). And a final draft. And someone needed to review it, before it even got to the non-flunky level, because the flunky is supposed to weed out the crap. So yes, @ you.

The Bruery Autumn Maple -- damn, this is sweet. And a little bit sour. But I can handle a little bit. Sent from mah Droid

That's weird, I thought that was one of them stereograms, so I tried to diverge my eyes, and I got the two moving creatures to superimpose on each other.

I am netflixing that movie as soon as it becomes available.

I have to admit, driving in to work today was a breeze. I could even slalom lanes, hypermiling-style*, without worry of impeding anyone else. Taking the shortest path on s-curves, so the closest thing one can get to a straight line, while remaining on the road. Effectively changing lanes to the innermost lane every time the road curves in the other direction. I don't really expect to save gas, I just do it because it keeps my mind on the road, and I don't do it if there's anyone else about.

I don't drink conservative beer, and I am ex-military in the same way that people are ex-primordial soup.
-
I'm not ordering one, but only because I don't has the money.
-
^ Sympathies, Nate -- I'd probably pass out.

Really? ...Just...really?

You drank it. That's okay, I'm not exactly Mr. Moneybags, myself.

Actually, I don't mind a little bit of coffee flavor in my beer, but I'm actually getting worse with coffee -- I used to enjoy the smell of it, now even that's making me squeamish. I got a whiff of stinkbug, and my housemate's coffee grinds in the trash, and I actually prefered the stinkbug smell. Maybe prefered isn't the right word.

Well, if you can't get it, Whole Foods (in Virginia only, fucking Maryland liquor laws) has 'em for $12.99. I didn't know they had a coffee stout, but I would have avoided it anyway. The 2009 was a BarelyWine, I've had it, it's good, but I've had better.

Yeah, but what's weird Al doing there? Woo: "Yeah, well, originally we were going to do it as a comedy, and instead of a two-way trade happening, it was going to be a three-way trade, and people would lose track of whose face was whose, and hijinks would happen, and then the lulz. We were trying to channel very Bob Hope and Bing Crosby."

I saw more idiocy today than I've seen in a while, cumulative. I saw people spinning their tires; I saw people getting out of their cars; I saw people tailgating. Heck, at one point, I pulled over to pee (it took almost four hours to get home), and when I got back on the road, there was no-one around. It was creepy, like something had happened behind me that I wasn't aware of -- zombie apocalypse or shovel-monkey invasion. I could do as fast as I like, unimpeded. I think I did like 20, 'cause I kept fishtailing (and this is in a front-wheel drive). And it was right in front of the River Road exit, inner loop, so I didn't want to take that turn too fast (I think I toggled it down to 15 for the turn). And then I caught up with everyone, and it took me another hour to get the rest of the way home. That's right, from ~your house to mine, on the beltway, it took over an hour. And we've been having on-and-off blackouts since I got home. FTMFL. Can't even watch my NetFlix DVD, for fear of the power crapping out and fucking up my Oppo and/or EarMax Pro.

Yup, I was getting that, too, if I let it slip past one page or so (I.E. if I didn't go to head-case every 12 hours or so).

I wrote a program that saves off all the texts -- it's a SQLite database, IIRC. I forget the program it was based on, but the idea was that if you lost or someone stole your iPhone, you could get it to post its location via twitter based on a URL...actually, now that I think about it, there are probably hundreds of apps that can do so, including some sort of backup program. Or there's probably a hack to get at them, something like this (except texts instead of notes), perhaps?

Schlafly 2008 Reserve Imp stout -- yup.
-
I actually thought it was kind of arty. Like an ad I'd see in a magazine. But I probably wouldn't have given it as careful a look if you hadn't said anything Shelly, so thanks for that. Me: Schlafly Irish-style Extra Stout -- pretty good, don't know if I'll go back for more. Also: Schlafly 2010 Reserve Imperial Stout -- I think this is as good as the 2008, will have to compare.

Castle -- Jesus Christ, intense episode.

(shudders sympathetically for Nate)

Not just the picture -- the colors, the font, the choice of words ("...disharmonic orchestra..."). I mean, c'mon! (Me: Still on Al Di Meola, haven't been able to do much listening at my desk much.)

I made a particularly good batch of Faux-rizona the other day. No chocolate milk notes but it still meets all my criteria for awesomeness.
