  1. Yes you should. It could be anything from a tiny little cramped "oh wow, I didn't think they'd have this" to (angel choir) "THE MECCA!"
  2. I disagree -- sure, things continue to break in after 15 days, but...don't you think it'll be close enough to whatever it's final sound is going to be by then?
  3. I love the smell of pancake crystals in the morning...with bacon!
  4. So "transistor" must be "pancake crystal".
  5. Sorry, no, I didn't mean the Onkyo, I meant the two LOD's that were floating around -- I believe one was Hirsch's, and one was Pete's (PHP Pete). One was an Apple iPod LOD, with RCA's, and the other was a cheap little one-piece third party knockoff with a female mini stereo connector. The Apple one sucked compared to the other one, but I don't know if that was the actual LOD part, or the cable that was attached to them (both had two pieces -- the cable part and the LOD part -- so at least it was the same amount of connections).
  6. I think the reasoning goes something like this: maybe. I mean, the idea being, your chain is only as strong as its weakest link, so eliminate (as much as possible) all other variables when comparing amps/sources/headphones/etc. The Pico DAC/Amp has an advantage in that the DAC and the amp are in the same case, so there's one or two less sets of connections, anyway. Did you listen to the two different iPod docks this last weekend? They sounded significantly different -- one was definitely a "weakest link".
  7. Yeah, Whole Foods is great -- I found some Weyebacher Tiny there. Each one is different, too.
  8. I haven't seen SSS yet (!), so no spoilers, but...what's he saying?
  9. Warning about those: you need to keep them as close to the exhaust hole as possible -- that hose runs hot, and ends up warming up the room as much as the A/C cools it. (My housemate's sister ran into that, that's the only reason I know.)
  10. You're right, that was at night, anyway, IIRC. I guess I better put "rewatch GitS:SAC" on my to-do list. Is that out on Blu-Ray yet?
  11. Let's put it this way, my chances of having sex with a cartoon are about the same as having sex with a live actress, especially once you invoke quantum mechanics (negligably zero == 0).
  12. I can't imagine anyone not crushing on the Major, straight or otherwise. I mean, purple hair, what's not to love?
  13. It's gotta be -- it looks phonetic. Towards the end of season one? I'll have to find that episode (looks like it's just before the battle when Batou gets ambushed at the Major's place) and see what it really says. I'm thinking "pancake" -> "can take..." something. Oops. Heh-heh. EDIT: To his defense, he recently watched it. After he said "at the Major's place", it triggered a memory in me as well -- there isn't a lot of scenes at the Major's place.
  14. ...and we lose another one.
  15. I'd want to try a bottle before I bought six, so I'd have to come up with some other things to buy from him first.
  16. ...or if he was lying, and preferred the Asgard.
  17. Dude, they're great, I'm getting them as my primary speaker listening (4.1 system). (And that's based solely on having heard the 3.1, so technically, without hearing them.)
  18. Pain of Salvation, Road Salt One -- I went through the album the other day, and starred the ones that I wanted to play for my friend Dave -- I ended up starring all of them...and then a few (the 4 from the Linoleum EP). Between the two disks, I skipped exactly three tracks -- the duplicate "Linoleum", the bonus track from the album "What She Means to Me", and the bonus track from the EP "Bonus Track B".
  19. But can beer be improved by adding shaved almonds?
  20. I would just like to disavow anything said by any white guy, anywhere.
  21. No, that other one was actually painful to listen to.
  22. I didn't realize it until I accidentally clicked on one on page 8. Which is why I mentioned it.
  23. Nothing wrong with that. You could make a rule -- complain or nag, and you get bumped to the end of the line? But yeah, your way works well, too. It also keeps it at the hobbyist level (in terms of investment), so is probably the better approach. And like I said, take any advice from me with a grain of salt, I have zero good experience dealing with "customers".
