  1. Pink Martini is fun. I wonder what they're like live?
  2. No, you'll be all wired up and trying to sleep. Sleep well...well, no, actually, sleep "typically", so that if there is anything wrong, they pick up on it. Sleep apnea can affect you directly, you know. It's a good indicator for other things being wrong.
  3. Well, that's not really fair, you have to make a special trip for everything other than homebrew. You have it backwards -- I already made the special trip, then didn't buy it.
  4. You all have more refined palates than I do -- I don't differentiate between tart and sour -- let's put it this way, if someone said they didn't like sour, I wouldn't have offered them that drink, even if I did understand the difference. On topic -- I almost bought a La Fin du Monde last night, but had to put that and a bunch of Paradoxes and a bunch of Black Holes back -- just too many beers to buy. I will try it one of these days, but since it's available closer, I didn't think it was worth buying it there just because it was in front of me. Did you know they have a bunch of different variants of the Mikkeller Black Hole -- regular, and several different barrel-aged varieties (wine, rum, etc.).
  5. She's alright:
  6. Wait, what? I thought you didn't like 'sour'?
  7. I didn't like Festina Peche at all. (There ya go, just in case you were being sarcastic.) It's true. Isekadoya is the brewery name.
  8. I cannot stop listening to Pain of Salvation's Road Salt One.
  9. Ricky's Rice Bowl chicken bulgogi
  10. Wow. And, as everyone else has said: good luck.
  11. Travel system? Aren't they fairly huge -- and dare I say, too nice -- for travel? They're basically the upper section of a Gallo Reference 3.1, aren't they?
  12. Fucking awesome. I love when smart people are righteous. I still take it with a grain of salt, though -- smart people know how to manipulate anything to their advantage. But still...love reading a good take-down.
  13. "...adulation..." -- Freudian slip? "...and full range speaks for all out assault" -- sounds to me you want something with a bit of dynamics, so no Magnepans. Unless you're going to double or triple or even quadruple them.
  14. Finished season two of Big Bang Theory -- really love some of the character development in this, Penny pushing Sheldon's buttons and whatnot. And I need a Leslie Winkle in my life.
  15. Beer: Weyerbacher Tiny (yes, more); Mikkeller To/From & From/To; Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence; Flying Dog Barrel-aged Gonzo Imperial Porter (this place had a buttload of porters, when I get around to trying to figuring out which one I like the most); bunch of Doppelbocks (most of them European imports); okay, get this: a scotch ale from a Japanese company; also their stout; Nogne-O Peculiar Yule and Dark Horizon #2; and Kulmbacher Eisbock.
  16. Al:
  17. Not Jacob, but: It's an amazing technical accomplishment. "Brings the book to life" does not convey what an amazing visual feat it was. As to whether or not it was faithful to the book, I'm with Jacob: couldn't tell you. Seemed a bit angsty, but I suspect the book was as well.
  18. Awesome, I'm going to have to remember that one.
  19. Scotch scotch?
  20. Not technically better, but an alternate solution is the power squid. EDIT: Never mind, beaten by about 12 hours. :\
  21. I think you mean stepmother...unless time travel has been covertly invented.
  22. Not a goddamn thing. Started driving North, and right after Maryland house ran into stop-and-go traffic. Decided I did not take the day off to sit in stop-and-go traffic, so turned around, stopped by a beer place that I had been meaning to check out, and went home. Then went and saw Predators. My footprint was huge today. Sorry, global warming.
  23. Beer: found another stash of Weyerbacher Tiny, and got some DuClaw Black Jack Stout and Goose Island Night Stalker.
