Unlocking an iphone is amazingly simple. Don't buy an unlocked one, just buy the cheapest one you can find, and look for "winpwn". If you get a 3g iphone you'll also need a $10 chip.

I feel for you naaman, but the deal I have with sprint is spectacular, as i've got a grandfathered sero plan. As to the "the iphone can be made to work on sprint", no it can't. It's GSM only and sprint is CDMA.

My advice with beer is that you should spend a lot of time trying everything. Any time you see a beer you haven't tried, try it. You'll eventually be able to figure out which things you're likely to like and which you aren't.

Are you still feeding hte amp with your laptop? Ground issues can make everything weird, and having a computer electrically connected to a tube amp can make for REALLY weird things.
