  1. I picked up a few THAT 1200 ICs that are good for summing balanced signals to single ended. I didn't end up doing what I'd planned with them, but I'd be glad to send them along if you can find someone to build the appropriate box for you
  2. I'm not saying it's not as good, I'm saying he might lose the voltage swing increase he's looking for. The TTVJ 307/a and the balanced output amp craig brought to canjam (not sure which it was) were both spectacular amps.
  3. My understanding is both the BA and the TTVJ 307a aren't differential amps, they just use transformers at input and output. So you won't necessarily see the benefits you're looking for from either of them.
  4. You certainly can, darwin is open, you can do all you want. I didn't say "more work" I said "more real work"... Anyway, I'm not aware of any audio products that work better under linux than mac. I am aware of a couple that only work on mac, tho.
  5. If you're having issues with 2 different graphics cards, I'd blame the monitor. Time to get a new one...
  6. Are you suggesting you get more real work done on computers than I do? Because, you know, linux is the toy, and mac os is the real world gotta work os. Linux may support MORE hardware, but it doesn't support any of it as well...
  7. with linux you don't get options like that at all, tho. To change the volume it's all command line
  8. I just made crepes with apples, bananas, and cranberries saute
  9. There's ice on the ground in CT already?
  10. I could probably get one at 300 yards with an AR15, or at 500 yards with my deer rifle. With a pistol it'd probably be 25 yards max.
  11. I prefer the way I read the title. Just take the ipod, put it on a fence, and keep shooting til you hit it.

, how come she didn't know ? And the altered states stuff was just too much. I did like what they did with the location titles, although I was having flashbacks to Superbowls. I do heart Anna Torv, also, and John Noble was amazing -- he didn't "play" loose cannon, he just played his character, which happened to be a loose cannon. So -- wish I could like it more, but the pseudo-science was a big turn-off. I like the things you don't like, and don't like the things you like (except the characters, which I mostly like)

Don'tcha know mike is on the intelligence committee and has all the facts. That's why he can call people he generally likes dumasses in public.
  18. My sister in law was on the power tool dragraces when they were shown on TLC one year. She rode a chain saw powered chopper. They even featured her build segment. She's an artist living in SF.

The failures are what they are, but the criticism of him is hyperbolic.

I dunno, Aerius is fair game for anything. After all, he's the resident assfacehole. There can be only one.

The worst period in american history? You've got to be kidding me. The great depression, the vietnam war, the late 70s, the civil war all pop to mind as times that were significantly worse than today. Aside from having a press that has battered him at every turn, things haven't been that bad. It's not Bush's fault that Katrina hit new orleans, or that the people didn't evacuate when given plenty of opportunity. It's not Bush's fault that the housing market was as crazy as it was, or that companies gave bad loans. The war in Iraq has gone on longer than it was predicted, but shit, we still have troops in Germany, Japan, and Korea. The bad gets exaggerated because the rhetoric is so divisive. There aren't riots, there's no food shortage, there's no draft, there's nothing that would historically count as a big negative. We had a stock market correction that has more to do with how the stock market operates than any indication of real problems in the economy. Yes, American automakers are struggling. Big shock there, they've been making poor decisions and turning out poor products for 40 years. Yes, the real estate market is struggling, because too many people were convinced they could afford to buy a house when they couldn't. There was some corruption that's being dealt with. As corruption goes, it's fairly minor when viewed through the eyes of history.

That was aimed at jeepster, not you. And it's true. This is a site that's supposed to be friends, not a liberal pileon site. I've made similar comments on the other side suggesting freerepublic. If you can't be civil and respectful, don't participate. I can't say I find a gay site implying that condi wasn't a vp choice because she's gay reliable, no. And from google, every sitesuggesting that was either a liberal blog, or the gay media.

It's reasonable for a president to pick people he agrees with as his cabinet. And again, I'd bet that Bush's cabinet is at least as diverse in opinion as Obama's will be.

Now of every source I've seen used in a debate, THAT one takes the cake. Congrats. If Condi'd wanted to run for either VP or President, she'd have been welcomed with open arms. My guess is that Barak's cabinet will be a lot less diverse than Bush's was.
