The tree was put up on Thanksgiving and all the outside decorations were put up today. Officially in holiday mode.

Mini is no more Al, but they let anybody with a Mini license upgrade to Amarra. They now have Amarra HiFi ($49), Amarra ($189) and Amarra Symphony ($495) (current Amarra users get a free upgrade with their license). The main difference between HiFi and full Amarra is that the Hifi is pretty much tied to iTunes and it is lower ( but still 192 kHz) resolution. They have a nice comparison on their website. I just started using airplay but so far it is pretty good. I previously used remote HD which worked just fine. I basically just want to be able to lean back in the chair like a slug and it works fine for that.

I use a full sized, 24" Acer monitor, and AirPlay to my ipad. I also run Amarra on top of iTunes.

Anybody riding with the Sidi genius have an opinion?

Finally upgraded Amarra mini to Amarra and now upgrading the OS to Mountain Lion.

The timing and specs of the iPad4 release make total sense to me. It was actually the ipad3 release that seemed rushed and really pretty unnecessary.

I'd go 13" rMBP The main reason for the ipad4 upgrade was to get all mobile devices with the new lightning connector.

Just get an iPad 4 Dinny. You have an iPhone 5 so you only need a mini if your head is as big as Brent's.

Growing up on Twinkies and Yoohoo FTW!

Finally have the iPad4 set up exactly like the ipad2. Really pretty similar. ... Well except for the fact that the retina display is so crisp it makes the ipad2 display seem like line printer graphics. Other than that they are pretty similar. .... Well except for the fact that the new processor makes everything on the iPad2 seem like it is running on a Timex/Sinclair and the LTE makes the 3G seem like things are running in reverse and even the WiFi seems faster. But other than that, it's pretty much the same.

This topic definitely interests me. Subscribed!

Do you have another DAC you can try? It sounds like the DAC may be slow in locking onto the signal. Also, do you have another optical cable you can try?
