  1. I went with 5. Would have gone with 6 but they are a little big for my desk
  2. So I am tired of being a cheapskate and using limited capability storage solutions. I need to get a real NAS that will not be limited for a while. Anyone have experience with recent Synology NASs? I am looking specifically at either the DS413 or the DS412+. Any experiences positive or negative with these units or the Synology software interface would be appreciated.
  3. Happy Birthday Stephen! Happy Birthday Stephen! Happy Birthday Stephen!

    Thanks for this.
  5. I did not get around to posting in the DIY thread, but that is a sweet build. I love the logo for the nonexistent fabrication business
  6. FYI, on the website you can only get the discount price for coming in on the 3rd and leaving the 4th. Any other dates and it says the discount price is not available for those dates and will not let you reserve anything. No Biggy, I am just going to call them tomorrow or Thursday and make my reservations over the telly.
  7. Yep, the whole Apple ID thing is just so full of illogically conceived processes, rules and procedures that I was sure it was created by Microsoft.
  8. I'll probably make it a long trip and come in on Thursday and leave on Monday. I will most likely make hotel reservations this week but I have to hold off on plane tickets to make sure Peter's soccer tournaments do not get in the way.
  9. Nice bike Jeff. Sounds like you may have to release the brake cable at the brake and start the course adjustment from there. I usually have my fine adjustment set so I have a small amount of loosening available but mostly the ability to tighten things up after the course adjustment is done.
  10. Happy Birthday Wes!
  11. Yep, that is the reason I do all my transcoding in dbpoweramp. It is fast and easy and does a great job at batch conversions. One of the few windows programs that just works. Not free however.
  12. Cool! Keep us apprised.
  13. But I will buy a shirt if you offer one.
  14. I would be in for a t-shirt, especially if it had a picture of Jerry Harvey on it.
  15. That defines awesome!
  16. Nice! Smart Monkey is smart.
  17. I played with the 13" rMBP at our bookstore last week. Messed around with it for about 1/2 hour and did not get any lags. Not sure if it was much of a test as it did not have any software that would have stressed the GPU on it. The screen sure was pretty. I'm still going with the 11" MBA because inverse size matters.
  18. Ignoring cost, since this is HC, 13" rMBP. Fini!
  19. Yep, hence I will have my GPS ( in fact multiple ), a good portable zombie apocalypse knife and my don't fuck with me face, honed from growing up in Chicago.
  20. Thanks for the info my man. I will likely rent a car as I am fairly familiar with Atlanta from my time living in Athens, GA and Aiken, SC.
  21. Noted and entered onto the map.
  22. Different Freddy's, thank goodness.
  23. Yep, but that may be a bit spendy also. I agree, USB 3 seems pretty quick for most storage needs IMO. I do prefer the drives where you can upgrade the connector such as the Go-Flex or Backup-Plus line of drives, although they do cost more. That also reminds me, is it now possible to set up a Bootcamp drive over TB, or are you still limited to using an internal drive? That would certainly make my life easier and lighter when I get my new MBA.
  24. Wow! 39 years is epic. Congrat Lloyd and congrat Becky!
