This sounds really nice(if I'm allowed to meet), sadly flights from Panama to Tampa are a bit more expensive than in the December date. Either way it'd be really nice to have a few vacation days and be able to meet you guys.

Watched the 3rd eps of Boardwalk yesterday, I think the 2nd and 3rd eps have been much better than the first. Also watched Rubicon, and a few animated shows.

hahaha, there probably are some charter flights still available, and yeah most people come here for the shopping, excessive amounts of shopping. If you have plans of coming down, make sure you book for the winter months when it doesn't rain so much!

The idea with the towel wrapping is not to hide it but to protect it, at the same time making it look like it's used. Like you said, you can't hide anything from customs anywhere, and you most definately do not want to be on anyone's book. I guess customs are more restrictive where you're located. It's not unusual for people here to fly to Miami, buy all they want, then come back in the afternoon, and pay nothing at customs.

I do that all the time too, thankfully I've never been asked a question. I also gift wrap, separate into different luggage, bring with carry-on, if I want to keep the box, I just unfold it and put it at the bottom of the luggage, then wrap the player with towels.

Were those the ones from h-f that the guy wanted to sell for $2000? Either way congratulations and enjoy!

I was also thinking about the netbook, seems to fit the bill, and you can use it for other stuff if you feel the need to. And if you already have a NAS, you can access it through the network.

Is there a particular reason why you're not using the coax or toslink inputs on the dac-2 instead of usb?

good to know you're enjoying the DAC, be sure to keep posting impressions! Also I don't think it's an ugly dac, just by looking at the pictures you can tell it's built tough, like a tank
