  6. Dr Meier told me that the Corda Symphony's pre-amp output are basically equivalent to a direct output from the Symphony's DAC. He said this is because of the use of stepped attenuators. Does this mean that having stepped attenuators is much better for use in a pre-amp? That it allows for truer reproduction of the signal? Isn't it true that Ray Samuels B52, Apache, Headamp GS-X, Corda Symphony and a fair number of B22's have stepped attenuators. It seems like Zana Deux not having them is rare among high-end amps. ..Still wondering if the Balancing act has stepped attenuators.
  7. What are your opinions on the Corda Symphony? There's a thread on the other site where its been reported that coaxial input to the DAC causes the signal to drop out. This is caused by the SPDIF receiver chip resetting when new signal is present. (takes a few ms) Optical is fine tho. And the SPDIF receiver chip was upgraded from the Opera's to alleviate the problems with the Opera's clicking noise when no signal was present.
  8. I wonder if the Balancing Act, or the Zana Deux for that matter, has stepped attenuators. I've seen those nobs being used for boutique bass and guitar amps with potentiometers.
  9. How many more seasons are left?
  10. I think it will be priced just under BHSE just like the Pico and Predator prices.
  11. Good midseason finale. Damn this is a good show.
  12. Space Tribe Menog Psysex Transdriver Electric Universe nystagmus (soon!! :D) VIBESQUAD, PENDULUM (sorry getting a little excited for shambhalamusicfestival.com) John Coltrane Yusef Lateef Pharoah Sanders, any other avant garde tenor greats I'm certainly forgetting Oscar Peterson Trio Ray Brown Trio Wynton Marsalis Hmmm, I'd also like to see Dispatch, TOOL, Dimmu Borgir, Haha shit I'd pay to see an undead John Coltrane play sax, if anyone wants to ressurect him.
  13. Gerry Mulligan & Chet Baker have great synergy as musicians. They have a very telepathic interplay that employs great care and finesse, while being delightful & surprising. Gerry Mulligan has an authoritative understanding of theory, while Chet Baker plays by ear, and the way that they play off of each other which makes even the most familiar jazz standards seem exciting & new. Unfortunately, for the most part their recording quality sucks.

  16. I followed the link hoping for some entertainment. \ ..& from the enthusiastic reviews I would've been tempted to try the deep cup darths, but I'm done with Beyers after trying to change the sound signature of my DT880's to something that sounded warm and musical, AKA bearable
  17. I'm not 100% up to date, but I'm kind of disappointed that we're not sure yet if Starbuck is a Cylon or not. Got my hopes up. She'd make a rad cylon. Now that the Lost season is over Im gonna catch up with BG.
