  1. aw shit yeah...happy birthday sir. hope you have a good one.
  2. they look pretty damn nice!
  3. would have been true if i were getting less efficient speakers but at 96db sensitivity i only need a few watts mike. a legendary speaker is in the making. for something that cheap im sure it does what is required. why not get that gainclone john woven has. he hinted that he wanted to get rid of it. would be cheaper in the long run and im sure it would do the job. ps. why not use the t amp you got in your office?
  4. just found madisound.com to be like 2 dollars cheaper. any other places i should be looking?
  5. i can get a pair for $200 shipped. just wondering if anyone knew of any places that sold them for cheaper. thanks.
  6. you heard that too? jp said the same thing...go figure
  7. mark reid should change his name to mr awesome builder. i would put him up there with nate and stephen and the like without a seconds thought. gear sounded amazing and also looked the part. fairly certain that there wasnt a single person at the meet who didnt enjoy the headphone amp he had built. also in attendance was a very cool spaceship looking speaker amp. never knew that speaker amp circuits could be that simple. the thing was just beautiful. last appeared a cable for the hd650s which was a rather odd bright blue color which was a little off putting initially but when i plugged it into my 650s good god was it amazing. the bass was the best part for me. very plentiful but didnt smother anything else. also a littler brighter cable than the mogami cable mike had lent me. did everything perfect. vickis r10s were amazing to listen to...again. but the real show stopper for me were the he90s. i used to think nothing could come close to the r10s but the he90s are in a different league altogether. sure it is the first time ive heard them so that probably factored in but it simply was an amazing experience. r10s were nice but he90s were mind blowingly good. mikes new tt was a sight to behold. very industrial looking tt which was battery powered...certainly adds to the coolness factor when you see it for the first time. it sounded quite amazing. dont know if it was actually the p1 doing the work or if it was the tt but i couldnt hear any of the surface noise associated with vinyl. perhaps really good lps. either way top notch gear rig. woo 6se was a nice friendly reminder. i certainly like it more than the extreme now that i had a chance to hear them side by side. it had a nice little bright sheen that mikes rig didnt have...perhaps that was the difference between analog and digital. not to say mikes rig didnt resolve as well - it was just a lot warmer and smoother. woo 6 was brighter and therefore a little more crisp to my ears. long term i would probably pick the p1 if i had the money. highs were nice for a while with the woo 6 but im sure i would have out grown them if i had to live with them. alo prices aside, surprisingly good quality out of that little ipod dock raffy had. overall a great meet as was expected. im sure the gang is out right now getting wasted and spreading the goodwill of headphone fanatics. great to see old friends and to make new ones. glad i didnt leave after the first hour
  8. damn al that sucks. reminds me of the scene from road to perdition where the kid asks tom hanks for 200 bucks. =/ http://www.grackyfroggink.com/froggfiles/2005/05/scene-from-movie-road-to-perdition.html dom answer your pm dood.
  9. no offense mike, but you already have a job that most people dream of. well perhaps not the job but the comfortable lifestyle that comes with it for yourself and your family. im fairly certain you didnt get to where you are without burning that extra can of midnight oil. if you did, i envy you. yes, i agree it is just school but im still in it while you are long done with it. difference in perspective on things is bound to be present.
  10. my point is im not skipping the meet to play poker. i already went out twice in the last week (spring break) to the casino which in turn fscked up the next days so essentially im out 4 days. blah blah blah. basically i have too much shit to do and not enough time. i look forward to meets and spending time with you all as much as anyone and i think you know that. if my non attendance comes to you as a personal blow then i apologize. the meet being your baby and all. sure its only a day out of the year but it has an avalanching effect once school restarts on monday. given that none of you are morons i think that that fact more than anything else will make my situation more apparent. having said that, plans have been made to pull off an all nighter tonight (code for have purchased a buttload of energy drinks) to do as much work as possible. i hope to make it tomorrow. that is all im going to say on the matter. for what its worth, i do regret having gone to play poker now.
  11. i can understand the jewish guilt trip coming from mike but from you jp, completely unexpected. /back to work.
  12. ill try to drop by for an hour to say hi to everyone. meh about the being dead part. as long as vicki is fine with me im aces. spent too much time at the casino and now im paying for it. so freaking far behind on my schedule
  13. count me out for this meet for now. too much work still remains to be done before monday hope everyone has a great time.
  14. oh shit...happy birthday sir. hope you had a great one.
